Sarah and Raymond, Cheryl White’s beloved brother, will share the inspiring story of Cheryl White, a pioneering 17-year-old who made history as the first Black woman to ride and win a professional horse race in this country. How rich is our history?!

Tomorrow, Thursday, September 20th, Pulitzer Prize nominee Sarah Maslin Nir and co-author Raymond White Jr. will be there from 6 to 7:30 PM to talk about their book "The Jockey & Her Horse", a new children's book featured on @GMA last week.

Exciting community event! The @keeneland Library is hosting an exhibit titled "The Heart of the Turf: Racing’s Black Pioneers." at the Lyric Theatre. It honors Lexington’s historic East End in and African American contributions to the racing industry.

Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Since then, we celebrate it annually from September 15 to October 15 to honor the contributions, accomplishments, histories, customs, and cultural diversity of Americans with heritages rooted in the following 20 Latin American countries and territories:

Did you know that Hispanic Heritage Month was Initiated as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 by President Lyndon B. Johnson?! It was expanded to a month-long observance by President Ronald Reagan in 1988.

As we commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, it's noteworthy to mention that 20.91% of FCPS students identify as Hispanic. This speaks to the beautiful tapestry of diversity and the rich cultural infusion they bring to our schools. Celebrate with us!

KY Refugee Ministries (KRM) will be co-hosting a book discussion at the Northside Branch of the @LexPubLibrary today at 6:00 PM. Instead of everyone focusing on the same book, they encourage folks to come and share their thoughts about books they read on the topic.
