A gentle reminder! Hurry! Only 6 days left until the end of Ramadan. Unfortunately, donations have dropped off. Ramadan iftar meals are a lifeline for Rohingya refugee vulnerable families. If you see our post, please donate or kindly retweet. chuffed.org/project/168773…

*deep breath* Imagine the level of brazen shamelessness it takes for a @guardian_sport ”journalist” to pontificate about freedom of speech in Iran, when the UK Gov arrested over 12000 people last year for Facebook & other social media posts, including 7 time elected member of UK Parliament @georgegalloway + his wife @GayatriGalloway, as well as journalist @richimedhurst @KitKlarenberg + countless other journalists under terrorism legislation? And to do so about Sardar Azmoun being thrown out of the Iranian National team player, for deciding to reshare his own post on instagram from January 2025 of him shaking hands with the despotic regime in UAE, AFTER that state aided & abetted an illegal war of aggression on his own country? Which hurled Tomahawk missiles at a children’s school on Day 1 of the war killing 186 children. If you had an atom of decency, honesty & humanity @draper_rob you’d apologize & delete your tweets. You won’t of course. But I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised Rob, seeing as you’re colleagues with genocidal lunatic @JacobSteinberg. Birds of a feather really do flock together.

@leylahamed @AryJeay True but I think it’s more normal for federations and coaches not to care what their players think. I accept in a time of war there often is a demand for uniformity + it is 2B expected in authoritarian theocracy. But I don’t accept Iran is normal for excluding like this

I hope Iran go to the tournament but refuse to play. Just don’t turn up. To any games. So FIFA can’t replace them either beforehand. Turn this circus into an even bigger spectacle. Scorched earth.
Leyla Hamed@leylahamed

FIFA rejects Iran playing World Cup matches in Mexico. A World Cup host starts a war against a qualified nation, admits it can’t guarantee their safety… and FIFA still refuses to move their games.

Actually Israel spied on his meeting where he signaled interest in recognizing a Palestinian state and meet Arafat - then 9/11 happened These leaks led the FBI to uncover a vast network of Israeli spies that eventually exposed AIPAC’s director stealing Pentagon secrets.

So FIFA reveal "Israeli" FA found to violate Articles 13 & 15 of FIFA Disciplinary Code. The penalty? CHF 150k fine + a banner in their next 3 "home" games with a banner that reads "Football Unites the World - No to Discrimination." This is real. No joke. FULL STATEMENT: "FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided that the Israel Football Association (IFA) has committed numerous infringements of its obligations as a member association of FIFA. As a result, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed the following sanctions on the IFA for breaching articles 13 (Offensive behavior and violations of the principles of fair play) and 15 (Discrimination and racist acts) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC):The IFA is fined CHF 150,000, subject to the provisions set out below. The IFA is warned for its conduct. The IFA is ordered to implement a prevention plan in accordance with the following guidelines: The IFA is ordered to display at its next three (3) matches played by its senior national team at home in a FIFA competition a prominent and clearly visible banner with the slogan "Football Unites the World - No to Discrimination" alongside the IFA emblem. The IFA shall submit to FIFA for approval the size and design of the banner, as well as its location in the stadium, no later than fifteen days before each match."

This is POSITIVELY & CERTIFIABLY absolutely INSANE: FIFA LITERALLY argues that it can't punish Israel FA for playing football matches on occupied Palestinian land. Why? because FIFA claims that the "final legal status" of the West Bank is an "unresolved complex matter under public international law." As a result, FIFA can't apply it's own statutes & punish Israel. Only: it is an INDISPUTABLE legal fact under international law that the West Bank is under Israeli occupation. This is LITERALLY the LEGAL position of the United Nations. Full statement by FIFA: "Decision on proposal made by the Palestine Football Association Following the submission made by the Palestine Football Association at the 74th FIFA Congress and the subsequent request made by the FIFA Council to the FIFA Governance, Audit and Compliance Committee (GACC) to investigate the participation in Israeli competitions of Israeli football teams allegedly based in the territory of Palestine, the following was concluded: FIFA should take no action given that, in the context of the interpretation of the relevant provisions of the FIFA Statutes, the final legal status of the West Bank remains an unresolved and highly complex matter under public international law. FIFA should continue to promote dialogue and offer mediation between the Palestine Football Association and The Israel Football Association at an operational level. In this context, FIFA will continue to facilitate structured engagement and monitor developments."
