This is still the only version of the game that has censorship. The only factor here that differentiates it is that it’s on a nintendo console. Every other platform is uncensored.

@FattiestFat @getonthestiix Wow! I wasn't aware of that. So it means Nintendo's content guidelines struck even for CDPR. I kept hearing from Nintendo fans that it wasn't censored and ran with it. I bought Dispatch on Switch to support the devs (they almost went bankrupt) but will play on my Xbox instead.

@Free_Xone @getonthestiix The reason why Cyberpunk didn’t encounter any problems was that they had a version of the game that passed the regional requirements in Japan(having released games in japan earlier), while Adhoc didn’t & made assumptions on their own.

@FattiestFat @getonthestiix Wait. I haven't played the Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk but does it not have a fully uncensored version where male genitalia is visible? Doesn't it have content parity with the other versions? If so that would indeed make it an exception. If not, then my bad.

@Free_Xone @getonthestiix Except now, with the new update, Dispatch on Switch has the same amount of censorship Cyberpunk on switch has(& as you kept trying reiterate, was an “exception”). Which means the initial flag was a regional issue.

@JuiceMan_V Actually, it being top down was the limiting factor for sales potential. Pretty much all 2D style Zelda typically sell within 4-6m range where EoW also falls into.

This game touched a few bases for Zelda fans that were whining about BoTW/ToTK, but it sold way less because it confirms those people are indeed the minority.

But it would STILL be censored all the same" (as the latest update proves) There is still no content parity with the other versions and why is that? Because of Nintendo.

Yes, they went with a global sku but even months after working with Nintendo on a region specific SKU the result is STILL a censored (albeit less so) game. This is exclusive to Nintendo platforms = a fundamental Nintendo issue

@Free_Xone @getonthestiix Don’t use AI summaries kid, because those use aggregated hits. Plus, they initially blamed Nintendo, & when Nintendo said that it’s not due to their guidelines & Adhoc applied the censorship themselves made Adhoc look worse. Then it turns out that the issue was regional.

@FattiestFat @getonthestiix Now is Nintendo at fault for Adhoc opting for a global SKU? No. Nintendo do not instruct devs on what to alter. They only let you know what does not meet their guidelines. Where Nintendo is at fault is that they DO have restrictive guidelines in the first place.

As you rightfully say, some censorship is to be expected because Nintendo have taken a different stance with content in their games circa 2023 (Cyberpunk is a glaring exception).
