But I really like the pledge as a firm commitment and clear standard. It acted as a guiding light throughout my various jobs of the last decade. I hope my donations have done good in the world and I hope my future donations will do more. And I am better for having pledged!

My relationship to giving is not uncomplicated. I find money stressful! I don't think I live a super frugal life. Sometimes I'm more stressed or guilty than joyous worrying about pledge amounts or whether my choices were actually good...

Personally, my pledge expresses 2 things I'm striving towards: 1) Helping others - charities can provide lifesaving help to those around the world 2) Frugality - recognising my privileged position, trying not to take more than my fair share

Happy 15th Birthday to @givingwhatwecan! I took a pledge back in 2011 at University and it's one of the things I'm proudest of. Since then I've moved jobs, cities and even changed my name. I've kept effective giving a part of my life and now I'm even on GWWC's UK board!

My 10% Pledge with @givingwhatwecan is one of the things I'm proudest of in my life. Since 2021, I've donated over $30k - most of which has gone to help improve the lives of people in low incomes countries.

The new @WHO report on #tuberculosis (TB) shows: - 8.2 million people were newly diagnosed with TB in 2023 – the highest number recorded since 1995; - TB-related deaths declined for a second consecutive year, as access to services continues to improve; - multidrug-resistant TB remains a serious challenge. The fact that TB still kills and sickens so many people is an outrage, when we have the tools to prevent, detect, treat, and #EndTB.
