If i'm being honest. I really don't give a shit about artists intentions. If i'm buying a house from a designer & i thought their design was awful or could be improved upon - i'm gonna change it. Art is subjective. The game artists get marching orders from their bosses so at no point in most games do they even have full control. So even if it were true that this technology was changing the characters. If I like the way it changes them, I do not care. Modding has been a thing for forever. You think these corporate suits are sitting around discussing the artists intentions? You're a dummy if you do The artists are a lobby group, and they are lobbying heavily against anything with AI, which is understandable because their jobs are on the line. Everyone's natural instinct is to self preserve. But i'm a realist and can see where the roads lead, whether I like it or not. Businesses that use AI will keep up or get ahead. Those that don't, will fall behind and self delete themselves. The common theme of game making for years is that costs are ballooning in development. They take too long to release, and there's too many layers. Ai is going to solve a lot of this. If i'm a developer trying to make a game of my dreams, but I can't afford a good artist... I'm gonna use AI. Most are. All gamers care about is if it's a good game. And they'll buy good games regardless of AI.

Guys, things have changed. There used to be so much woke stuff in games to talk about and push back on. But there is so much less now. Even at GDC it was muted. You all made a difference. Keep it that way.

Crimson Desert is sitting at 78 on Metacritics right now. - Vice gave it 100, Forbes gave it 95 - TheGamer gave it a 70, and IGN gave it a 60 (so far) I watched a handful of youtubers review it, and so far this is what is shaking out of the review tree: - Amazing open world - Sense of wonder/awe - Frustrating controls and bugs (for some) So far, it is sounding like an amazing experience, stuffed with things to do, but whose junkiness can detract from it.
