Guys, so cool to see Kotaku feature my post in their coverage! But what's even more amazing is seeing how viral @GameQuestGame has gone. So happy I could help!
Polygon, 80lv, Dexerto, Destructoid, GameRant, and more have all joined the hype. So well deserved!

Due to the influx of traffic, there's been a common bug reported; if the game is in a loading loop, press G to clear your save and restart.
If this doesnt fix it, jump on discord and lodge a bug here: discord.gg/a5jpD4WF3j
I'll fix the bug when I can get time, thanks!

@Sp00ky_Skelet0n @IndieGameJoe Pretty sure it will only use the steamid of the logged in user, let me know how it goes
English

@GameQuestGame @IndieGameJoe Question how does this interact with steam family share? Do I just auto lose?
English

Well, it's been 24hrs since @IndieGameJoe posted about my crazy game pretty much everywhere, and Game Quest now has 20,000 wishlists, which is double what it was.
I can't thank you enough - and to everyone, I'll get to work to make the game worthy of your wishlists. ❤️
English

@PlushPapi @IndieGameJoe Yeah I can, but the problem is it's not consistent and more expensive games might have been discounted more than cheaper ones. The original value is a better measure of how much the game is worth.
English

@GameQuestGame @IndieGameJoe can you get the most recent discounted price from the API? it might be more work then it's worth but it may be more realistic then me fighting god of war ragnarok with $60 worth of health when i bought it for $28 on a steam sale lol
English

@Radio_New_Vegaz @IndieGameJoe Yup, your 5 most played games are you allies, two can be unlocked in the demo. You can also collect allies from other lists and choose which two you want to take to battle. They will have special abilities in the future.
English

@GameQuestGame @IndieGameJoe question
what about your most played games?
can they be your allies?
English

@GrizzKnight_ @IndieGameJoe No it doesn't, you need to set your list to public in steam if you want to play your list. Otherwise you can play my list, or your friends lists, privacy is your choice, it only looks at th API data
English

@IndieGameJoe This has a total control of my privacy and my data. This game is shit man.
English

@Taroyoma @itzninjafool @IndieGameJoe Bugs on death are due to too much server traffic, I'm going to setup an offline mode where it doesn't consider leaderboards or stats on the response - a good way to test a game is to throw shitloads of traffic at it with no preparation ;)
English

@GameQuestGame @itzninjafool @IndieGameJoe Well after trying some rounds, getting Sid Meier denting a good portion of the massiv hp´s Civilisation VI(lol), game kinda froze in place like that, well it does have fun potential, it needs quite a bit of work though.
Good luck and success for your game´s development.

English

@MaltySaltyy @IndieGameJoe Oh dude, so much fkn potential. I really hope unknown worlds work on natural selection 3, now that they seem to be on their own again
English

@GameQuestGame @IndieGameJoe Natural Selection 2 as one of your most played games is absolutely based. What an amazing game
English

@bobnagesute @IndieGameJoe There's no web scraping going on, it's purely API driven
English

@GameQuestGame @IndieGameJoe Oh, if it's the same stuff a user makes publicly available, then I guess it's fine.
I was seeing the potential security risk of a game having access to a bunch of info people aren't aware of and potentially scraping it in the background / phoning it back home / etc...
English

@bobnagesute @IndieGameJoe Yeah I don't like what banana did with exploiting steam cards, there's nothing like that in game quest
English

@GameQuestGame @IndieGameJoe Like, yours seems like a genuine game, but the Banana Game or however it's called, or the multiple "achievement" games, prove that any system Steam lets people mess with is going to be used cynically at some point
English

@Zyddies You don't need to worry, it limits the games based on cost and least time played - theyre not all going to spawn ;)
English

@GameQuestGame Oh damn, I'm gonna die so much!
Very eager for this one I will admit just for the pure chaos.
English

Thanks for the post, I'm currently working on Act 2: Desire (it's about how many wishlists you have, while you still have so many games you haven't played)
Indie Game Joe@IndieGameJoe
This indie dev is making a game where your Steam backlog comes to life… & tries to kill you. - Fight the games you never played - The more you paid, the stronger they are - You’re literally battling your backlog It’s called Game Quest: The Backlog Battler. Would you play this?
English

@reelrorymercury @IndieGameJoe that is actually a pretty good idea, I can get a list of achievements. Problem is, some games give out achievements for nothing... could get a ratio of completed though.
Dammit.. now you have me thinking...
English

@IndieGameJoe They get stronger the less achievements you have?
English

@__elyna_ @IndieGameJoe DLCs spawn when the parent game dies - but it's limited to 4 max, so don't worry :)
English

@IndieGameJoe I would buy it and never play it, which I assume would unlock some sort of New Game Plus mode...
English

@mgirenj @IndieGameJoe You have to set your list to public in Steam to play your list, otherwise you can play my list or your friends.
So it's fair enough for steam to have it opt-in, back in the day it was public by default.
English

@IndieGameJoe If there’s APIs that can allow this without being invasive or public, then that’d be pretty wild.
