MoJ delegation of 🇬🇪wrapped up a 3-day visit to New York for the 25th session of the UN CEPA. They showcased key reforms in public administration and serive delivery domain and held high-level meetings with UN leadership. 🇬🇪🇺🇳 The next destination is Tbilisi which will bring the world together to host the 2026 UN Public Service Forum.🌎

Delivered remarks at UN informal plenary of the IGN process on the Security Council Reform. Reiterated Georgia's support for equitable geographical representation, expansion of both permanent and non-permanent membership across regions, and discussed measures to enhance the Security Council's effectiveness in upholding international peace and security including limitations on the use of veto. Highlighted the painful lessons on the abuse of veto by Russia during the 2008 Russia-Georgia War that prevented the SC to adequately address it.

At UNGA 1st Committee General Debate, highlighted: - illegal militarization of Russia-occupied regions of 🇬🇪 by Russia, along with other unlawful actions; - 🇬🇪’s steps to bolster CBRN security; - 🇬🇪’s strong, consistent support 4 global disarmament & non-proliferation regimes.

At UNGA 3rd Committee General Debate, stressed: - grave HR & humanitarian situation in Russia-occupied Abkhazia&Tskhinvali regions of 🇬🇪; - UN’s key role in protecting HR; - need 2 protect victims of conflict, promote gender equality & tackle risks of digital technologies’ misuse

We welcome the #Gaza ceasefire as a hopeful milestone toward peace. President @realDonaldTrump’s decisive diplomacy, supported by the mediation of 🇶🇦 Qatar, 🇪🇬 Egypt, and 🇹🇷 Türkiye, has played a crucial role in reaching this agreement. The immediate release of hostages will pave the way for lasting peace, that remains our shared responsibility.

I attended the reception hosted by the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, and the First Lady, Mrs. Melania Trump. The event was held in honor of the heads of delegations participating in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Had an engaging meeting with @alain_berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, on the margins of #UNGA80. We explored ways to strengthen our cooperation, discussed regional developments and Georgia’s upcoming local elections.

Always good to meet @OSCESecGen Feridun Sinirlioğlu. This week in New York, we discussed 🇬🇪-OSCE cooperation, regional security, the situation in the occupied regions & the upcoming local elections. Grateful for the OSCE’s continued support for 🇬🇪’s peace and stability efforts.

On the margins of #UNGA80, had a productive exchange with 🇨🇭 FM @ignaziocassis. Discussed 🇬🇪-🇨🇭 partnership, regional developments & Switzerland’s upcoming OSCE Chairmanship. Grateful for 🇨🇭’s support for 🇬🇪 sovereignty, territorial integrity.

Within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly, I met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres. Our meeting focused on the significance of peace and sustainable development, and I highlighted Georgia’s role in advancing peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. I expressed gratitude for the United Nations’ consistent support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the policy of non-recognition of the occupied territories. We also discussed the challenges facing the international community, and I reaffirmed that the path chosen by the Government of Georgia - peace, stability, and economic well-being - is steadfast. The Secretary-General conveyed his appreciation, noting that Georgia has demonstrated resilience under considerable pressure. As part of the meeting, I left a commemorative note in the United Nations Guest of Honour Book.
