We get it. They’re cute. Really cute. But if you see a dog in a harness, they’re on duty.   Always ask first. And if the answer is no, that’s okay too.

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day. At the GDF, accessibility is about more than design. It is about freedom, confidence, and the ability to move through life with dignity.   For someone who is blind or has low vision, a guide dog can open up the world.

Reminder: Guide dogs are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act. That includes access to public places, restaurants, and rideshare vehicles.

"Can I pet that dog?"   "No, they're working, but thank you for asking!"   Guide dog handlers have the right to say no. Always respect their space.
