Exciting announcement (go, #Gobo!) from a very thoughtful thread (recommend reading!) by one who'd know better than most whether #MastodonOrTwitter. His answer is: Both! He offers sound reasons, but they also suggest: Once @joinMastodon goes mainstream, @Twitter may whither away.

We need tools that will let us manage all these different rooms from a single app on our phones. That's coming - our Gobo project will first let you read and post to Twitter and different Mastodon-like networks from the same client.

Instant fail. The scholar.social community is closed. (Anyone know why?) I can't find another as interesting (just fediScience.org?) & the quoted article advises *specifically* against joining mastodon.social because it's Twitter all over again. Now what?

I'm distraught & mournful over the passing of one of Europe's most revered early-career law profs. I saw @DHuerlimann (23.8.1985–29.9.2022) inspire many young scholars since we met @Open_Con 2015. His family asks for commemorative donations to @UNICEF: CH88 0900 0000 8000 7211 9.
