Our statement re Harvard antisemitism report: The Harvard Jewish Alumni Alliance commends the Presidential Task Force on Combating Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias for its work to establish a more pluralistic environment conducive to respectful engagement and disagreement. 🧵

The report draws on Hillel data, Crimson surveys, demographic records, and peer comparisons spanning nearly 60 years. It examines nine structural explanations across all nine schools. No single factor, or combination, accounts for the gap. #NeverIsNow #HigherEd

The Jewish Community does not want to hear "Antisemitism has no place in America" when its been allowed to run rampant on the streets, on campus, at conferences, in the arts, literature and many professional organizations for the last 18 months.

We send our deepest condolences to the families of the two staff members from the Embassy of Israel in Washington, DC who were senselessly murdered near the Capital Jewish Museum. We condemn this despicable act of violence and call on leaders to stand against antisemitism!

And of course, the event at which this young couple was murdered was a panel discussion about the dire need and innovative ways to provide aid to Gaza, Syria, and other war torn locations. But you know, a Jew is a Jew to a Jew killer.

I’m in D.C. My family assumed I was at the AJC event. I still don’t know if police apprehended the shooter or if he’s on the loose. This is terrifying.

A 2024 report by the AMCHA Initiative exposed a group called the Faculty for Justice in Palestine (FJP), a national network with over 160 chapters established after Hamas’ October 7 attack. According to the study, 'The primary mission of FJP chapters is to use their members’ academic positions and departmental resources to actively promote the academic boycott of Israel (academic BDS) by engaging in actions to purge their campuses of Zionism and Zionists.' Of course, when one sees their nefarious work, it’s hard not to conclude that many of them are activists disguised as faculty.

Harvard has received a wave of grant termination notices: “The scale of what happened [Thursday ] is incomprehensible — a bloodbath for research and the wider community.” “Entire labs are unraveling, and young scientists on training grants may be suddenly adrift; work that could change lives — or save them — is being brought to a standstill.”

As an @nyuniversity alumna, I’m pleased to see the university respond swiftly. NYU is withholding the student’s diploma and issued this apology: “NYU is deeply sorry that the audience was subjected to these remarks and that this moment was stolen by someone who abused a privilege that was conferred upon him.”
