But this afternoon I went and looked at it again. It's maybe not groundbreaking, but it's actually a lot better and more substantive than I remembered. It was sufficiently well written, with good figures and scientific background. It was actually kind of fun to read. (2/3)

Earlier today I made a joke to some friends about how bad my first first-author paper was (all the way back in 2012). I had thought it was pretty bad with spurious science and results. (1/3)

When I was young I had a hard time remembering which tap was hot or cold in a sink (because my dad installed our kitchen sink backwards). So I came up with a device to remember. Hold your hands as in the image. See how one hand makes a "C"? The cold tap is not that one.
