The elephant in the room is that Ausar and Duren sharing the court for 30+ minutes simply shrinks the court for Detroit too significantly. Two absolute non-shooters in a lineup makes defense too easy.

75% of AJ Dybantsa’s FGs were unassisted at 6’8 and he still led the NCAA in scoring with 50% shooting. For reference, he would’ve been 2nd behind SGA in the % of unassisted FGs among all NBA players who played atleast 60 games. He might walk in the league as a top 35 player.

It’s more important to not have weak links in the NBA than to have the top-heavy star power. You don’t want players who can’t shoot the 3 or will be targeted defensively. Very easy links to exploit. Each player in lineup should be atleast 50th+ percentile in both skills.

Houston simply doesn’t have the 3 point shotmaking to keep playoff defenses honest.

Portland matches up physically with San Antonio very well, and they’re a high-energy group. This won’t be an easy series for San Antonio.

Microwave 3 level scorers will always have a place in the league, and are indeed important regardless of league trends. You will always need insurance for star players.

Screen navigation is the most important defensive skill in the game. It doesn’t matter how good of an isolation defender you are. If you can’t navigate the ball screen and recover, you instantly cause a 2 v 1 and break down the entire defense.

If you’re a 6’10+ freshman/sophomore center that struggles to get minutes at a high major, you should almost always go mid-major for a year. Bigs are extremely scarce at the mid-major level. You will get all of the opportunities to raise your value in the eyes of scouts.

The Jazz need to give Oscar Tshiebwe a full standard contract and give him 27+ MPG next season. You already have 25% of the 4 Factors covered with that type of rebounding talent on the floor.

Wagler worries me Given the frame, he’d need to be ELITE at a few things like Shai or Hali (he doesn’t have the creativity, length, strength Shai had, nor passing/feel or even athleticism Hali had) Release may be too low Frame isn’t playoff defense frame

Has there been another player who’s won a high school and college national championship as the lead guard? Elliot Cadeau’s resume is crazy.

A team needs to give Tounde Yessoufou a 1st round promise now while he’s undervalued. Built like an NFL linebacker, was 3rd in the Big 12 in steals, 9th in points, and shot 5.3 threes a game, granted it was only 29%. Elite NBA pro once he scores more efficiently.

61% of the variance in player salaries are explained, simply, by PPG and Win%. The NBA market is telling us what it values, and it’s fairly simple. Score a lot of points and win games. If you don’t score a lot, have a track record of contributing to very successful teams.

I don’t know why more 5 star recruits aren’t choosing UConn. Hurley has mastered the game of basketball.
