@Cobratate I think it might have something to do with women not being attracted to misogynistic bigots.

Once you’re rich and famous and can have any girl on the planet you realise they’re all scum and you don’t want a single one.

Know the early signs of control in relationships: -Putting you down/belittling -Questioning yourself/ modifying your behaviour -Making you feel bad for seeing friends or family -Always worrying about saying ‘the wrong thing’ -Pushing your boundaries -Jealousy / accusations

@nataliepage This is the biggest downfall of the family court system. The argument that you can be a ‘good parent’ regardless of domestic abuse is tiring. No one is displaying good parenting if their children are seeing them abuse the other parent - let alone the risk of child being harmed.

When a child says, 'I don’t feel safe,' they should be listened to. But too often, the family court will ignore their voices and put them in harm’s way

@IDVALB @David_Challen Exactly so. But then we know that a large percentage of last summer's #FarageRiots arrested had previous DV convictions. So maybe he's just showing solidarity with his voter base?

Concerned to read that Warwickshire’s Reform UK council leader wants to weaken domestic abuse checks so “stern dads” aren’t referred to social services. Screening exists because women and children face the greatest risk at these moments. warwickshireworld.com/news/politics/…

Good morning! I’ve been working for a different domestic abuse service for the last few years, and thought I’d bring this account back as I still have a lot to say about VAW 😄 Thanks for sticking with my page!

Wow. A guy asked me for a lighter. I just said sorry I don't smoke. He then said do you have a boyfriend? Me, yes I do. Him " I wouldn't let you loose, you wouldn't be leaving the house". Great misogyny on a Sunday morning walk. Just perfect 😞

Women falsely reporting rape accounts for 4% of all reported rapes. But how often do we hear that women lie about rape all the time & can’t be believed? Hint- it’s a lot. Yet we see women being killed by men EVERY DAY and people will not label them as abusers/murderers. WHY?

@judith_vickress @cpsuk I am so upset about this. What more do they need? A woman has lost her life & this man has put on the most embarrassing & pitiful display of ‘remorse’. He is a killer & it seems unless people see someone being murdered they will never believe domestic homicides can occur.

I’m livid that this man has been cleared of murder and that her death has been diminished to a ‘kerfuffle’. He is described on the news as ‘charming’. So sick of this rhetoric. Watch the video in this article; there is not a tear in sight. He killed her. bbc.com/news/uk-englan…

@DrJessTaylor We have been ordered by a judge in family court previously to cease supporting a child under our CYP team as we were ‘coaching’ him in what to say to say in court and it wasn’t true. About a child who had suffered abuse and trauma.

How is it possible that the family courts can order that if a parent or child makes any further abuse ‘allegations’ that they can be punished or custody awarded to the abuser? How can a court order that you’re not allowed to report serious crime against children?

@DrJessTaylor It’s a constant battle, isn’t it? Comments I’ve heard over the years from police officers and judges when it comes to rape and/or domestic abuse cases goes some way to explaining why we as a society haven’t moved forward. Some who have the power to help victims still blame them.

Woke up, checked mentions, tagged in a thread with someone saying that men raping women is inevitable and only happens cos women are promiscuous and because of the ‘breakdown of traditional roles of women’ Annnnnnd I’m done. Don’t tell me these attitudes don’t exist anymore.

@TinaTinde Absolutely agree! Focus is never on the perpetrator of abuse. A high risk client of ours was forced to move out of her home on Friday evening as her perpetrator was bailed there. And people wonder why victims don’t report!

Even better: Domestic violence perpetrators should lose housing status/leave home and gain prison status. This is about their behaviour and decisions to be violent. Legal focus on them is necessary. #lockdown #StopGBV

Seeing the abuse @DrJessTaylor has had in reaction to her book release is truly staggering. It’s horrifying to see the level of misogyny and hatred aimed at someone for talking about women subjected to violence & trauma.
