Gözleri kalabalığın içinde sahibini arıyordu. Her geçen insanı dikkatle inceliyor, kulaklarını en ufak bir sese dikiyordu. Akşam oldu, kalabalık dağıldı, ışıklar soldu… ama o yine de bekledi. Ertesi gün yine geldi. Ve sonraki gün. Ve sonraki… İnsanlar zamanla onun hikayesini öğrendi. Ona yemek getirdiler, başını okşadılar. Ama #Hachiko’nun kalbindeki boşluğu kimse dolduramadı. Çünkü onun beklediği tek kişi vardı… ve o kişi bir daha asla gelmeyecekti. Yıllar geçti. Mevsimler değişti. Yağmur yağdı, kar düştü, rüzgâr esti… ama Hachiko aynı yerde, aynı sadakatle beklemeye devam etti. Gözlerinde hep aynı umut, kalbinde hiç sönmeyen bir bağlılık vardı. Bir gün… o da artık bekleyemeyecek kadar yoruldu. İstasyonda, her zamanki yerinde sessizce uzandı. Belki de son anında, uzaktan gelen o tanıdık adımların sesini hayal etti. Belki de sonunda sahibine kavuştuğunu düşündü. #Hachiko’nun hikayesi, bir köpeğin sadakatinden çok daha fazlasıydı. O, beklemenin ne demek olduğunu, sevmenin ne kadar derin olabileceğini gösterdi. Ve bazen… en acıklı hikayeler, hiç bitmeyen umutların içinde saklıdır.
