The Chairman of the GA Republican Party has issued a statement on the denial of the GA State Election Board to attend Election Night reporting on Tuesday, May 19th, by the Secretary of State’s Office. Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 21-2-408) gives candidates and political parties the right to appoint poll watchers with access to polling places and tabulation centers, and the State Election Board (O.C.G.A. § 21-2-30) is charged with ensuring uniform, lawful, and transparent election practices. Georgians deserve maximum transparency in our elections — especially this year. Brad Raffensperger, our current Secretary of State, oversees much of the state’s election administration and is now a candidate for Governor in the 2026 election. The final aggregation and reporting of votes on Election Night should leave zero room for doubt. With a candidate overseeing the process that will determine his own race, Georgians have every right to demand even greater real-time visibility. We call on Secretary Raffensperger to lead by example: open the Election Night Reporting Room to additional independent observers and the public so every step of tabulation and reporting can be seen. My son was here to visit today. He was talking about the data center coming to town. He works for a company that services the construction sites in mansfiekd and Columbus. THey have been building them for 5 years and still not not done. He goes mom you want move out of here before this happens. Reasons. The dust storm from construction and the lime dust is horrible. The traffic issue is gonna double or triple. The heavy equipment will destroy the town streets. Then they will shut down roads bc of the construction and you can't get through there he said good luck getting access to 127 or 30. Not alone get through town. The new streets up town will be destroyed. The lights from these can been seen there for 25 miles away. Everyone complaining about the add cost to them already and their not even completely built . The noise from all the construction for the people living close. This is partially what we will be dealing with. Wait till it's done the electric is not ready for this are water supply is not ready for this . Farms in that area are struggling. This is what our lovely town counsel signed us up for. my dad called me today stressed about property taxes. he’s 76, retired, and living on social security. been in the same house since the early 90s. mortgage paid off years ago. now his property taxes jumped from around $6,500 to over $8k. imagine spending your whole life paying off a home… and still being one tax bill away from losing it. that doesn’t sit right with me.
