No...this isn't somewhere up north! This is Lafayette, Louisiana, getting near blizzard conditions as they are under a Blizzard Warning! Baton Rouge NOT under that warning, but still a Winter Storm Warning. 4-8 inches expected. wafb.com/?utm_medium=so…

ONCE IN A BLUE MOON...We will have two full moons in May. This Friday (May 1), we'll have the full Flower moon, the 5th full moon of the year. Then, at the end of May (May 31), we'll have another full moon. That will be a BLUE MOON, since it's the 2nd full moon in the same month!

WETTER WEATHER PATTERN OTW. We'll see scattered storms late in the day today into tonight, with a level one marginal risk of severe weather Wednesday evening. We are still expecting wet weather early Saturday AM, but now the models have the rain moving out of Baton Rouge earlier.

Good Tuesday morning...We tied a record yesterday at 90, and we should do it again today, but if you don't like the hot/humid weather, we have a COLD FRONT coming this Thursday. Check out how forecast highs and lows will drop off. We could see lows around 50 Sunday and Monday.

We have a wet pattern later this week with rain chances at 30% Wed, 50% Thu, 60% Fri, and the best rain chance will be Saturday AM, shown below. Expect wet weather Saturday AM, but we will dry out in the afternoon, then Sunday looks great. There is a severe threat Wed PM.

Slight chance of strong/severe storms late Friday night into early Saturday AM. This is a low threat, but we could see a few storms produce damaging winds, and an isolated tornado can't be ruled out. These storms will clear out by mid-morning Saturday. No washouts expected.

From bad to worse...The updated drought monitor shows even more drought conditions across Louisiana, with extreme (red) drought blanketing more parishes to the south and north of the I-10 corridor. There isn't any "exceptional" drought yet, but that could change.

This Friday evening and overnight, there will be a level one marginal risk of strong/severe storms across our local area. Three out of four modes of severe weather possible, with flooding not expected. Hopefully we'll just get some much needed rain, and skip the severe stuff.

BIG COLD FRONT THIS WEEKEND! Showers will start to move in Saturday night, so most of Saturday will be dry and warm. The cold front will move through Baton Rouge Saturday late-night, but the showers and non-severe storms will mostly be behind the front, lingering into Sunday AM.

Good Friday morning and TGIF...Lots of events going on this weekend. LIVE AFTER FIVE will have nice weather tonight. Also, baseball and softball both look good, partly cloudy, warm, and dry. However, Sunday morning looks wet behind the sharp cold front for All-pro fishing.

New update on the drought monitor showing more drought conditions across Louisiana as the abnormally dry weather continues. New Orleans is now in the extreme category....we need some rain, sooner than later!

Could we see TEMPS IN THE 40s this Monday morning? The answer is yes, for some of us, as we get down to 50 degrees in Baton Rouge Monday. As for this weekend's cold front, it will move through Sunday morning, giving us our best rain chance of the week (50%), but no severe storms
