calling it 'barely an exception' is a joke. A group doesnt need to make horror their entire personality from debut just to get credit for it. It wasnt just soft nostalgia, it was literally a psychological horror story about fan delusion and loneliness. Twisting a comforting memory into something ghostly is a huge horror trope. the whole mv is pure analog horror. The creepy camcorder angles, the phantom deer, and the way the girls just vanish into thin air is jst unsettling . Its a literal sort of ghost story
