@DIYMaker_Johan Oh for sure, this is the more advanced mounting option. At the end of the day it's a mount < something with a mid thread hole aka a snap < a locking bolt. How do you feel I could simplify this more. Also how come you went with this mounting option?

.@KeepMakingOn the newer bolt lock mounting system is so confusing. I want to lock my panel with those, but I can't figure out what exactly to use to mount it. I kow of the single, dual and quads, that's not the issue. But just all things necessary to mount a tile to such "lock"

@DIYMaker_Johan I'm sure that will be fine too. You can always cut up the mdf into smaller bits.

@KeepMakingOn Thanks for the info! 😊 Not sure if I'm gonna do it this way. Unfortunately big MDF plates are too big. So still need to figure out how I'm actually gonna to it. Using planks, like I explained with that picture would be easier, but not sure if that will be fine.

.@multiboard_io @KeepMakingOn I've a question. Don't mind the ugly patched holes btw. 🤣 Do you think it will be fine to use wooden planks like the large orange "rectangle" to mount 8x8 panels? Instead of wall directly Those black X are square snaps Also dual and single. 1/2⬇️

My go to mounting technique is onto a sheet of 12mm mdf with 15mm screws. That way, you don't turn your wall to Swiss cheese, and it's up to you how load baring you want the system to be. As in you use more screws to mount the mdf for more weight. And if you want to move it in the future all you have to do is unscrew the mdf.

@KeepMakingOn Also, what about load bearing? I mean if I would strap a big MDF plate to the wall with bigger screws and use more smaller screws to mount the boards via snaps to that board, do you know if that still can takes the same weight? Not planning for really heavy stuff though I think

@DIYMaker_Johan Honestly I've never tried it so I would not be 100% sure. I have mounted multiboard like this onto a cleat wall of mine and that turned out fine. Is there a reason not to just go with a sheet of MDF in the back. ?

So for example: 4 rows of 8x8's. Then only planks at top/bottom and in between wete horizontal panels meet. (Orange in picture) Those plans with longer screws on wall and then panels with snaps on those planks with shorter screws. Also vertical planks needed? 🤔 2/2

Ya... the Frank truth is all PLAs are different. It just happens that the matte PLAs are "weaker" but more maluable. Thus, they have more shatter resistance and thus come across as strong for a building system. BUT every brand is diffrent and some add chalk to make pla matte which makes it way worse!

I always thought that matte PLA was less strong that normal PLA, but @KeepMakingOn from @multiboard_io says on his website that matte PLA is stronger then regular PLA. On reddit I also see different opinions, but most say that it's weaker then regular PLA. Confusing. 🙃🤣😅

Here’s my 100% 3D printed toolbox. It holds most of my smaller regular use stuff around the house. It uses the Multiboard system made by @KeepMakingOn. Way better than gridfinity and hexwall imo. Can’t wait for the big Multiboard update coming soon!

.@KeepMakingOn I assume the 8mm off the wall mounting snaps Stacks, like in the picture, also need ironing on all top surfaces? I mean like the tile stacks.

@kesselborn First launch of Multiboard was 100% made using just blender precision modelling. Now it's rapid prototyping in blender precision modelling and then finished off in Fusion to then be mass exported in blender. I do this workflow mainly for the makers that request .step files. =)

@KeepMakingOn out of curiosity: do you create the multiboard stuff with CAD-Sketcher and/or Blender precision modeling?
