@pinkrocktopus I had a boss once who told me & another female colleague we sounded ignorant because we did not pronounce the "r" in February and said "inner-resting." He said this with one leg up on a chair, leaning on his knee, man spreading.

AND ANOTHER THING: We don’t drag people who say a word wrong if they’ve only ever read it. Still remember my freshman college English class when I got roasted for saying calliope as cally-yop.

Just say you don’t like AAVE or SAV and get on. I’m exhausted with these “proper” English pronunciations. Oil can be oll. Sale and sell can sound the same. You can say ask or acks. Grammar and pronunciation are different. Let people talk.

my dad used to get so mad every time my mom would come home w a new coffee mug (she likes to collect them) and her new bf literally built her a wall to display her collection. this is why we don’t settle for loser boys, ladies!!!!!
