Interesting tnseq screen for #biofilm essential genes in #Pseudomonas aeruginosa being presented by @KraghBio at #EBF2022. I like the fact they used a non-attached aggregate model, seeded by cells embedded in agar, to simulate mucus-embedded biofilms in vivo.

Craig Williams opens #DanishBiofilmWorkshop with telling us about biofilms in the real world: “biofilms are cool” - by clever microbiologists, “how do we diagnose it?” -by hospital microbiologists, “what are biofilms?”- by junior medical doctor?

Our new study just published in @ThoraxBMJ reveals that the difference between acute and chronic lung infections is not the presence and absence of biofilm aggregates, but that acute infections have higher metabolic activity. thorax.bmj.com/content/early/…
