I have NOTHING against velo gurus or the industry they created. But if they want to get more love in youth sports, they'l) market "command velo." Many pitchers posting high velos, would drop 7-13 mph trying to find my command velo standard. Let's see who doesn't. #makepitchers

I propose "command velo." If we can post velo maxes on pull-downs, run & guns, & with under-weight balls, why not "command velo." Show me, off the mound velo within 5 inches of the catcher target. 7 pitches, 4 locations. If you can't hit within 5 inches, 5 times, doesn't count.

I'm a huge fan of velocity. I'm a bigger fan of command. The two together make a pitcher. Ask Edwin Diaz. I get that "velo" is a tool, and an important measure. It's one single, imperfect measure. I propose a new measure for pitchers 1/2
