I’m writing to you after letting 24 hours pass, because one piece of advice is always worth following: do not post on social media when you are angry and disappointed. There is another reason too, but I’ll get to that in a moment. ◾️First, once all the votes have been counted, it will become clear that just under 2.5 million of our fellow Hungarians voted for the Right, for the cause I will stand for until the end of my life. I sincerely thank you, and I am deeply grateful to all 2.5 million of you. You are a brave, clear-sighted community, and it is an honor to stand among you. 🇭🇺 I am also immensely thankful for the support of my European and American brothers-in-arms. ◾️Second, the most important task now is to hold this community together in these difficult moments. And to do that, we need honesty above all else. It will take weeks to identify all the reasons, but I did not want to write until I had identified at least one thing within myself — and that is the other reason — something I am certain I was guilty of, and I believe many others in the Hungarian conservative public sphere were as well. We called on you to join a great civilizational struggle against the insanity of postmodern liberalism, which we have every reason to believe threatens not only Hungary’s future, but the West's as a whole. That became our entire focus, and we barely looked back. Even so, we heard the voices of dissatisfaction, impatience, and even anger. But all we said was: “Don’t grumble — something more important is at stake right now.” And that is the greatest sin one can commit in politics. Because in the end, everything is about the people standing behind you. They are the reason you do anything. Without them, you can do nothing. And from that came, in my view, our biggest mistake. We simply did not believe that the dissatisfaction would be so great that 10 percent of voters who had never voted before would now go to the polls simply because they were fed up. No one was counting on that. Yet turnout this year surpassed the previous record by 10 percent. There are a little more than 8 million eligible voters in Hungary. Ten percent of that is 800,000. Just look at the margin by which Tisza won... ◾️Third, although we lost the battle, we were right on the most important question. The postmodern liberalism that still dominates Europe today is indeed rushing toward the abyss, and dragging the entire continent with it. Our American friends face a different, yet equally perilous challenge (but that is for another time). That means the central task remains the same, even if we have now been weakened: Hungary must be defended, and, if possible, Europe as well. If it seems right now that we are powerless, know this: we are not. Especially not you, dear European friends, your moment is just around the corner. But now you will have to fight that much harder, because for a while, Orbán will not be there to fight for you. ◾️Fourth, the overwhelming majority of Tisza’s voters are not traitors. They wanted change. We will all soon experience the true quality of that change. They will. So do not hate them under any circumstances, and let go of any anger towards them as soon as you can. They are not the enemy. As for the real traitors, there are few of them, and you know them by name. To you, my American and European friends, no Hungarians did not change. Most of us just made a bad choice. ◾️Fifth, a Brussels occupying government is coming. They are coming to take from Hungary, not to give. It is better to be clear about that from the very beginning. ◾️And finally: the “big f***ing war”... we will have to live under the threat of a major war for at least a decade. Massive storm clouds are gathering over Europe — more on that in next Tuesday’s episode of Geopoly. But the next year will be the hardest. By next spring, France will certainly have a government — whether patriotic or radical left — that will give nothing to Ukraine, and certainly will not go to war against Russia. Until then, they still have time to set it off. Because without the United States, they may still be crazy enough to try, but the Germans will certainly not move against the Russians unless they know they have at the VERY least France on their side. We somehow have to hold out for one more year… 🙏 But it is a tremendous loss that Orbán will not be there to pull on the handbrake.... Oh, and one last thought... take the enemy's cheers as a compliment! They celebrate because they fear us.
