Great to see finally how #institutional investors are demanding #pharma companies to make #vaccines equitably available globally. A call I hoped to see since last year. Lets see how this will change the situation where most needed fast.

Dear Els, fully agree but we also need to have better communication from WHO about the spread of the new variant and the role this variant plays in the surge of infections among the vaccinated. Why do we still rely on information on vaccines targeted at the wuhan variant .

Other emergency measures should include massive financial support (not loans!), equitable vaccine sharing, technology transfer for vaccine production and the #TRIPSwaiver. These are long overdue and could have prevent the emergence of variants in the first place

We should not punish people from Southern Africa but be happy that South African scientists identified the variant and reported on it quickly to the rest of the world.A travel ban is unfair.We should provide large scale access to the vaccines for those same countries now

Smoke and mirrors: you outrageously refuse to share knowledge and technology of a publicly funded vaccine that should be available for all, and then celebrate what? That you allow countries to donate the vaccine they bought from you at too high prices!? Wtf is in those contracts?
