@SilverVVulpes Well I figured there was a better way to do it but as this does not actually seem to be the case maybe I should just do that then. But there should be some sort of API that lets you programmatically add papers.

@LiminalRev why not? it's just a file that is there because of what you did with your keyboard and mouse, and you can modify that and it's reflected on the gui. you can make backups if you're afraid

asking claude code with help reorganizing my zotero library. massively effective, very time saving etc. anyways hit rate of where to place papers on 'misc' folders or misplaced ones is >95%, but it did want to put 'classifying global catastrophic risks' under 'AI'. concerning

@SilverVVulpes Yes I was trying to get AI to organize and add papers programmatically and I didn't like the idea of manually editing the sqlite

@LiminalRev I will likely ask it to code custom extensions, but to be clear all changes are after quitting it and launching zotero only, it's just that all you see visually on zotero when you open it refers to a database file that is easy to query or edit

People say they're not training entry-level white-collar positions because of chatbots. This is just another excuse for Saturn devouring his children. Short of full AI god takeover, Jevons’ Law means that training for chatbot-heavy professions is *more* valuable than before.

@arcticinstincts Yes but I think they would ask for substantial revisions, so this is my author's edition/preprint. Also the goal is to have people read and cite/extend your work, I am not confident that getting it in a journal would materially improve those odds as an independent researcher.
