President Trump’s endorsement means the world to me. I am humbled by his faith in me as a Senator and as a friend. On a professional level, I am proud to have been there at the beginning when President Trump — through sheer force of will —achieved the greatest political comeback in American history. On a personal level, I genuinely enjoy our friendship. He’s an awesome golfing buddy, who I have yet to beat. I appreciate the recent joint statement by the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan reinforcing their condemnation of Iran’s outrageous behavior, and its interference with freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, viciously attacking energy infrastructure and shipping vessels. It is imperative that we forever end the ability of the Iranian regime to terrorize the world, particularly vital international waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz. Since 1979, this regime in Iran has been organized around a cult of death, not enlightenment. It is my hope that our allies will more aggressively collaborate with the Trump Administration so that we can move forward together to protect the freedom of navigation and reject the concept that our lives would be governed by threats from terrorist regimes. In the nick of time, through Operation Midnight Hammer, President Trump stopped Iran from having enough weapons grade uranium to make at least 10 nuclear bombs. Iran was weeks away from achieving this, not years away. Like many of our Arab allies, the UAE’s star shines brightly in several ways. The UAE understands why the U.S. is fighting to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, even though America gets only 1% of its oil through the straits. Their willingness to entertain the idea of being involved in an international coalition to protect the Strait is much appreciated. The brunt of the Iranian attack during this war has been on the UAE because they host American military bases and thousands of U.S. military personnel, providing nothing but the best treatment to our people. When it comes time to making sure that those in the crosshairs of Iran have what they need to defend themselves, I believe the UAE should be at the top of the list. As Senate Judiciary Chairman, I confirmed a record number of conservative judges and stood strong defending Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh. During negotiations between Iran, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the regime rejected the U.S. offer to provide a peaceful nuclear power program for free. Also during these negotiations, the Iranians made a stunning statement. They boasted to Witkoff and Kushner that they had 460 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium. There is no commercial purpose for enriching uranium to 60%. The time to go from 60% to 90% enrichment, which is weapons-grade, is weeks, not months. 460 kilograms of uranium enriched to 90% is enough for 10 bombs. Instead of panicking, begging the Iranians not to go forward and throwing money at them like Obama and Biden did, @POTUS chose a different path. When informed of the imminent possibility of a nuclear breakout by Iran, President Trump authorized Operation Epic Fury, which obliterated the Iranian enrichment program. He acted in the nick of time before this terrorist regime would have had enough weapons-grade uranium to make 10 nuclear bombs.

The resignation of Joe Kent as the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center could not have come at a better time. In his statement, explaining why he’s resigning in protest, Mr. Kent is echoing the Democratic talking points, which are devoid of fact or evidence. Hopefully, the person replacing Mr. Kent will have a better understanding of the threats presented by the Iranian regime.   Mr. Kent said that Iran posed no imminent threat to the United States. Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

One of the chief oppressors of the Iranian people and guardian of the religious Nazi regime in Iran is no more. The killing of notorious security chief, Ali Larijani, is the biggest blow to the regime since the death of the ayatollah.   Larijani was truly one of the key leaders of the regime’s security apparatus that is being used to terrorize the people of Iran and the region. His demise puts further pressure on the regime as they continue to lose their first and second layer of leadership.   This was an amazing military operation by all those involved. To our allies in Europe and throughout the Middle East: If you don’t believe Iran with a nuclear weapon would eventually be your war – you have missed a lot.   Through Midnight Hammer and Epic Fury, @POTUS acted in the nick of time to prevent a nuclear armed Iranian regime. Past administrations failed to effectively confront this threat. The JCPOA empowered the regime and was the dumbest deal since the Munich Agreement of 1938. If I were you, I would help President Trump keep the Strait of Hormuz open, which benefits you more than anyone. I would also go further and recommend you more openly assist President Trump’s efforts to end the evil that has emanated from the Iranian regime since 1979. This would give the people of Iran an opportunity to live the life that we have become accustomed to in the civilized world.
