Linn County’s IT systems have been fully restored and public services have resumed as normal following a global technology outage on July 19 caused by an automatic software update from CrowdStrike, which the County uses for malware and virus protection.

@LinnCounty Are we able to drop off absentee ballots to the auditors office? I know dejoy is slowing down the mail and want to make sure our ballots are in. Last election, my ballot was sent at least a week before and received the day of. I don't want to take chances.

The County's website LinnCountyIowa.gov is working and the public may be able to access online services through the website if their internet service is not affected by the outage. Linn County will provide an update on services when we have additional information.

The global internet outage being reported in the news is affecting Linn County services. We are in the process of triaging the outage and working to bring County computers back up. Services are limited until computer service is fully restored.
