At #LuxembourgICFDays2026, Minister Kastytis Žuromskas discussed climate finance and private investment. 🇱🇺 invited 🇱🇹 to join the Luxembourg-EIB Climate Finance Platform. Minister Žuromskas discussed its potential for climate projects in the Eastern Partnership region.

At the #ForestEUROPE conference in 🇸🇪, Lithuania presented its position on financing forest biodiversity. We stressed that stable public funding and clear rules remain essential, while additional tools can help attract private investment for biodiversity protection in forests.🌳

At the @WUF_UNHabitat, 🇱🇹 LT shared its experience implementing the New Urban Agenda, focusing on affordable housing and ♻️ urban development.We highlighted long-term spatial planning, strengthened municipal capacity and renovation 🏢 which deliver around 40% energy savings.

At #UNFF21 🌳🌲 in 🇺🇸 NY, countries are discussing global forest protection, sustainable forest management, financing and monitoring systems. 🇱🇹 Our ministry is presenting national progress and taking part in negotiations on the draft omnibus resolution.

At the informal EU housing ministers’ meeting in Nicosia, 🇱🇹 Lithuania emphasised the need to increase housing supply, speed up renovation, simplify administrative procedures and mobilise investment for affordable and sustainable housing.

At the EU Environment Directors’ meeting in Paphos, 🇨🇾 Cyprus, Vice-Minister Aira Paliukėnaitė presented Lithuania’s priorities: stronger EU bioeconomy, simpler nature rules without lowering goals, global action on plastic pollution and more funding for biodiversity.

Minister Kastytis Žuromskas is attending the #ENVI today.Ahead of the meeting, he met with MEPs Virginijus Sinkevičius and Vytenis Andriukaitis to discuss🇱🇹EU Council Presidency in 2027.Lithuania aims to continue the EU Green Deal while strengthening competitiveness and security.

At #UNEA7 in Nairobi, Vice-Minister Aira Paliukėnaitė highlighted the need to assess environmental damage caused by russia’s war in Ukraine. Lithuania supports #UNEP and reaffirms the importance of #multilateralism in driving coordinated international environmental action.

At #COP30, Environment Minister K. Žuromskas discussed with 🇺🇦 Deputy Minister Pavlo Kartashov how we can support Ukraine’s climate policy and the rebuilding of war-damaged areas. We are ready to share the expertise with Ukraine and contribute to a sustainable and secure future.

At #COP29, LT's Environment Minister S. Gentvilas emphasized the country's climate targets: ✅ 70% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030, ✅ Climate neutrality & circular economy by 2050. He also called for global accountability for Russia's environmental destruction in Ukraine.🇺🇦

🇱🇹🌍 At #COP29 Minister of Environment S. Gentvilas joined a panel about Law role in Climate Change. He shared Lithuania’s achievements in using legal frameworks. Measures such as legislation on renewable energy, building retrofitting, deposit system are already reducing CO2.

👏 Exciting news! Lithuania has been elected for the first time to the Executive Committee of the Multilateral Fund for the Montreal Protocol. 🇱🇹 Our colleague Ingrida Varžgalienė will represent Lithuania!

📣 Today, the EU Environment Council adopted key conclusions ahead of COP 29 🇦🇿 & COP 16 🇨🇴. Ministers reaffirmed the goal to limit global warming to 1.5°C and agreed on a new climate finance target post-2025. 🌍
