Cos this made me think of other old time BL ships, and they all have more than 2 BL series where they were the main leads, whether it's OffGun, EarthMix, ForceBook etc But TayNew as a pillar, has only 2 main leads BLs??? Something ain't right @BlwatcherF @_lItayd

It's funny how the quotes can only list two BLs in addition to Cherry Magic, one of which they were a side couple. For a "BL ship pillar", it's honestly odd how they don't have that many BLs to their names. So you know what, @_lItayd may have stumbled on something with TayNew 1/2

@ssomersault_ @EnchantedCut I disagree but however we wanna look at it, doesn't actually matter cos that situation set a precedent, and now neither BL and GL fans, wants that collab. Cos gmmtv Gls fans don't want BL ship in their series even as 2nd couple, and the BL fans want to match the same energy.

Hot take(probably) i think BLs should include lesbian couples maybe as their second CP. So many ppl get more comfortable watching something new when it is along something familiar for them and it can help popularize GLs. And as much as i want it to be just our space society in general need to get comfortable with GLs too and this might be the best way of doing it. Like what happened with MilkLove and their interaction through Bad Buddy. And idk why they don't do it more!😒

@romihss @EnchantedCut I actually don't remember much about dangerous queen, I only saw the first episode, but there was definitely something about the main lead characters that made me drop it instantly. I really don't remember what it was.

@LuciferAxdo @EnchantedCut Thank you for the thread! I'm gonna read it. Like, I watch all GLs (I'm not part of any fandom though) but certain behaviour I've noticed among some GL fans, oh my god...oh, and the lead in Dangerous Queen...I don't know but for me that was such an icky dynamic, yikes

@ssomersault_ @EnchantedCut Now gurl be for real Do I believe some parasocial fans said that, sure it's a possibility, but the whole discourse was about how the gl community wanted a solo gl without bl ships, and I think that's why the replacement for Geminifourth were not an official Bl ship So don't lie

@LuciferAxdo @EnchantedCut lmao don't try to rewrite history, 23.5 was one of the first gls at the time and many of geminifourth fans were trashing it and saying they would only watch it because of the side bl couple, of course gl fans were going to be upset

And in all honesty, Peaceful property had me in a chokehold more than my fav BL of that year, my love Mix up Thai version. That should tell you the effort and care that was put in that bromance, but they couldn't do the same for Melody of secrets, Revamp, my golden blood???

Celine is not wrong when they say Peaceful property was a soft launch for gmmtv leaning towards bromance. I just found out today that it is literally in the tags of the show; bromance. And CONVENIENTLY, the story is better written and directed than other BLs of the same genre

@chuurtack @EnchantedCut They wouldn't have overshadowed, they would have given more bl fans more of a reason to watch the GL. And the bl couple in that show, was non-existent. I don't think they were even an established ship to help with the show's popularity.

@LuciferAxdo @EnchantedCut They did change the plot from the pilot so it was delayed until 2024. I do think this was a good choice since GF skyrocketed bcs of MSP and would likely overshadow 23.5. Pretty sure there is a smaller bl couple in the series

"Gmmtv casting someone to have ....." I know the trend is for fun, but it's a main issue that I have with BLs. The actors get typecasted so bad, that most of their shows starts to feel the same; Similar characters, similar personalities, similar plot points.......

Listen, I knew GMM TV was gonna push more bromances because their pillar couple, one of their first BL couple was given a “bromance” show not too long ago. And apparently it was well received. Let’s not act shocked when even established couples start doing bromances 🤷🏾‍♀️ BOYCOTT

@EnchantedCut Yeah, GF was taken off the show for some other reason that I don't remember, but it was a big discourse back then.

@EnchantedCut Yeah and when Geminifourth were made a 2nd couple in the 23.5, starring MilkLove. The GL fans were against it, even though GF would have given the show more exposure and help bridge the gap between BL and GLs. No, they said we were taking too much of their attention

@maivolchonok @BlwatcherF And we been telling them that we want such stories in our BLs but gmmtv chooses to give us mommy/daddy issues and repetitive sunshine/ grumpy plots. They are choosing to put more behind bromance than BLs. Not cool.

@LuciferAxdo @BlwatcherF That’s probably the target market they want to get. some audience now even in straight series don’t want a romance focused plot but a complex plot,nice world building, etc. tbh its boring if its romance all the time since its predictable and redundant.

@chann7_Xnghan @BlwatcherF The story can have gay romance and still have the ghost stuff. There are so many supernatural stories that have romance; Merlin, Legend of the Seeker, Teen Wolf, Vampire Diaries, and so many more. Gmmtv is choosing not to do that for their BLs.

@LuciferAxdo @BlwatcherF I loved Peaceful Property The plot was good and overall i hoped that we get season 2. Never thought of it as a bromance show. Kinda glad that there wasnt a romance story from the main cast since i liked the whole ghost hunting stuff

@BlwatcherF And that story was actually good compared to their recent BL, cherry magic. It, Peaceful Property, had an interesting plot and complexity and interesting characters so maybe it was soft launch. It had more of an effort put behind it. I never thought of it like that.

@BlwatcherF Oh yeah that show, Peaceful Property. I actually liked the show. I never thought of it as bromance but based on the trajectory that Gmmtv is heading, it wouldn't be that surprising if that show was a soft launch for established BL ships to start playing bromance roles.

The number one priority for most companies is money, rather than the quality of their product. As long as the money is coming in, it doesn't matter whether the product is good or not, whether it's critiqued or not. All this is to say that, expect BL series to worsen with time.
