@granthpaulsen Is there a compensatory pick if someone signs him ?

This is not to suggest that I think he's a closer on a first division team. But I think he's a valuable member of a bullpen who is durable and consistently solid in a volatile role. His 66 saves this year probably make him appear more valuable than he's been (FIP of 4.42). I think he's fine more than he's a stud. But I still think he's worth around $9M and for a team that is light in the bullpen and isn't a lock to spend big, it's just very curious.

The Nats non-tendering Kyle Finnegan last night was odd. They turned down trade offers for him in July (after he was an All-Star) because he was part of their future plans. Then you send him to FA yesterday? Was due to make about $9M. That's nothing for a proven, high-leverage, late-inning reliever.
