The question nobody is asking: Who does Topuria fight next if he loses?

Back in 2022, for UFC 280, I had a 7 fight parlay that would have turned $25 into $4k. Nearly every single one hit, and it was down to the last 2 fights. I had Islam over Charles, sorry Charles, but that was an easy lock. The only one to not hit? Tj vs Aljo. At least that’s what I thought it was, but the real fight was Tj vs his own shoulder. I had to listen to him get on the mic in the post fight interview and say “yea my shoulder fell out probably 100 times leading up to this fight”😭😭. Bro I would not have even bet on the fight if I knew that. If I didn’t include that fight, it would have turned $25 into $2-3k.

@Fighting_Corner If he actually pulls off an upset, idk where he’ll rank all time but he’ll have to be the p4p #1 Legend Killer 😂. I swear going into the Israel fight, I thought Izzy would dog walk him. If he can do it again, I’ll be left confused and questioning everything for at least a week.

@FightFanatic_ If Shavkats out, then Ian has just as solid of a case as anyone else. Would almost rather see morales, but Gary had a great showing against Belal and honestly did very well against Shavkat. Both Belal and Shavkat are good grapplers, so I think Ian has earned this one.

You know at the end of the day whether it is Ian Garry or Morales, both are very good title defense against prime deserving under 35 year olds welterweights unlike someone.

@Wollffe1 @2Jab_1Cross Could be what they are doing, and I know Arman has made his own mistakes that gave the UFC the excuses they needed to keep him out of the title matches. Either way though, if they keep making these types of moves it’ll eventually catch up with them.

Good question, and that’s a good point. I was actually reflecting on this over the last hour, after watching one of @THATBOYMMAGURU videos and might have to reconsider this. FW is in a hard place, because Aljo vs Movsar both have strong cases for a title shot. I think Murphy vs Aljo makes sense, only if Movsar gets the title shot. But I could see Murphy vs Lopes or Jean being good fights to make as well. At this point tbh, Volk is aging and has already edged his legacy in stone. Let Volk get his pick between Aljo & Movsar, and whoever isn’t getting the shot gets to at least pick who they’d like to fight out of Lopez, Jean, Pico, Murphy, Garcia, and Vallejos.

No one wants to see Aljo get a title shot. That ship sailed 5 years ago when he had the greatest MMA acting performance of all time to become the champion against Petr Yan.
