@AlexaLLRx @CodyRhodes Cody Rhodes isn't 'fighting' TKO; he is the Gold-Plated Leash. He performs 'authenticity' by signing autographs so that you don't notice his agent and his boss are the same man currently liquidating your childhood...thats all im saying.

I understand that's where the criticism is coming from - that he is perceived to be the face of corporate greed due to the major pricing shifts largely occurring after he became champion. But I am also well aware of the fact that he's someone who stays for hours after a show to sign autographs and take pictures when the company would rather charge fans hundreds of dollars for that. That is an act that is in direct contrast to the TKO model of turning absolutely everything into a way to profit while minimizing the fan experience. I was skeptical of this myself, initially. But Cody (and various other wrestlers) are likely to remain with the company in some capacity long after WWE is sold off again, so I can't see them being supportive of TKO destroying the product to maximize exit value for themselves. Besides, he does not directly benefit from this as he is on a guaranteed salary and isn't taking home a percentage of the gate. In any event, I will be curious to see what their prices look like the next time they come to Ontario. A recent bill was passed to cap secondary ticket resale prices at the total original cost. Nick Khan's explanation will be exposed if the prices for their next Toronto show are as high as they were in the last 2 years. I obviously don't actually expect a shift as I never believed his explanation to begin with.

The cognitive dissonance is remarkable. Understand that it's not an angle, not a storyline, not a ploy. @CodyRhodes is the last of his kind, carrying forward the old school mentality that protects the art, sport, and spectacle of wrestling. In response to the complaints of the 2010s, our QB1 was instrumental in dismantling the monopoly by creating the competition, restoring the art of wrestling, and giving wrestlers leverage. TKO is an enshittifier, owned by private equity. A fanbase that does not understand corporate structure is trying to blame the last true paragon of wrestling for C-suite creative interference while simultaneously complaining about exploitative pricing, ad overload, and the degradation of the craft. This isn't unique to wrestling. There are multiple shows, films, and brands which have been damaged by corporate meddling. Cody Rhodes, please know that the majority of us understand and are on your side.

It seems that TKO has really screwed up WWE/Wrestlemania with ads and celebs and getting away from the heart of pro wrestling - and talented performers are paying the price.

While Cody definitely has a "fans first" soul, we have to note the forensic reality: he signed with WME in May 2024, which was eight months after the TKO merger finalized in September 2023. Even if it was for "acting," he is represented by the same corporate parent that he’s shooting on. In the world of private equity, this is called "Controlled Opposition." If the hero of the show is complaining about the ads, the fans feel heard. You mentioned he doesn't support the predatory pricing, but the "Cody Rhodes Bus Tour" (March 2026) was the most controversial "Veblen Good" in wrestling history. Whether it was his idea or not, he is the face of the very "Dynamic Pricing" model that is pricing out the core American fan.

Cody signed with WME for acting before TKO's enshittification of the WWE. It doesn't logically follow that just because he signed with a talent agency, he's co-signing all of TKO's decisions. In fact, he actively did not promote the majority of Pat's involvement in this mania. I followed his media rounds and it became quite apparent that Cody does not support this. Moreover, like I said, there is zero evidence that he supports any of the other issues faced by fans from the dynamic pricing to the excessive amount of ads to fewer matches. He is actively using his voice in favour of the fans, which you can't say for several other wrestlers of similar standing. If he was a bought and paid for stooge, he would have been making excuses for this bullshit but he isn't.

Meltzer says Hunter is behind today's firings and not TKO, even though TKO owns WWE. Yet when something bad happens in AEW, he usually says it "came from above", never from Tony, even though Tony Khan owns the company. 🥰🥰🥰
