Steam Next Fest is here once again. Indie Devs if you're participating in the event. Show me what you've got cooking. Doesn't matter if it's a recently updated demo or a brand new release. May all the wishlists be yours. #IndieGameDev #SteamNextFest #indiedev #indiegame

@shin_yeo If you achieve your goals and are successful, which are subjective standards we’ve set ourselves, how can you even be unhappy? I don’t see how that is even possible. Unless the goal was to become unhappy maybe?

@FR3NKD Godot is an open source and pretty modular. Anything it’s missing you can just do yourself. Can’t or don’t know how? Stop complaining then 😂

Godot engine is limited. People are frustrated by this fact because the engine can't do everything. "You can't create your dream game" They say. But this is not the game dev mindset. Technology has always been limited since the days games were written in assembly. Game dev is not limitless potential it never was, it's asking yourself: what can I do with my limited resources within the limits of technology, not the other way around. Simplicity is good, Limitation is good, embrace them. BTW, you're never going to make that open world RPG you're dreaming of anyway.

@occasoftware It’s the best engine on the market. Company sucks a bit. But the engine is the best.

@AlcatorSK I like that solution. The drop-shadow plus your suggestion communicates it quite well :)

@MainframeGames_ If I were facing this conundrum, I'd probably place 2 or 3 laser source/receptable pairs on the wall, with the laser only between one such pair, thus indicating which 'height' it is at. Drop shadow would be a possibility, but not for a laser ;-)

@AlcatorSK Correct. This is just the tutorial level. TBH not 100% sure yet. Maybe a drop shadow might help communicate it? Definitely be a bit tricky for the lasers 🤔

@MainframeGames_ During the 'vertical' segment, how would a player know whether to Roll or Slide? I assume the text "ROLL" will not be available in subsequent rooms, right?
