Victim: Hamida Khatun, a 55 year old widow.
Killers (arrested quickly by Surat Crime Branch using CCTV, evidence, and confessions):
Her younger son, Parvez Mansuri (22).
Her elder son’s wife (daughter-in-law), Shabana.
Shabana’s father, Firoz Alam (Mohammed Feroz Alam), who traveled from Bihar.
Method: They strangled Hamida inside the house, stuffed her body in a sack, and dumped it near EWS flats/Kosad area in Amroli, Surat.
Motive (per police and multiple reports): Ongoing family tensions and quarrels. Hamida had discovered/opposed the illicit affair between her younger son Parvez and his sister-in-law Shabana (elder son Wasim’s wife).
There were also financial disputes. Some reports note Parvez claimed Hamida herself had a past/long-term relationship with Firoz Alam (Shabana’s father), which added to the household conflicts.
What the tweet gets wrong / exaggerates:
“Daughter-in-law caught her mother-in-law sleeping with her own father” → Partially aligns with the alleged Hamida–Firoz relationship, but no reports say the DIL “caught” them or that this was the starting trigger. The primary conflict was the mother objecting to the son + DIL affair.
“She then started an affair with her brother-in-law” + “The mother-in-law caught them. Threatened to expose everything.
The daughter-in-law replied: ‘Expose me, and I expose you.’” → Pure dramatization. No police statement or news report mentions this specific confrontation, blackmail exchange, or dialogue. It’s not in the video or any coverage.
“Two generations. Four illicit relationships.” → Inflated. Reports consistently describe two affairs at most (Parvez–Shabana and the alleged Hamida–Firoz one). No evidence of four.
“They allegedly murdered the mother” to bury the truth → True that the three killed Hamida, but the tweet’s framing makes it sound like a mutual “everyone was cheating” cover-up thriller. Reality: it was a targeted killing after the mother kept objecting to one specific affair.
