The SCB, Cuttack fire tragedy DEMANDS ANSWERS But the Media is COMPROMISED So the burden falls on us. The people of Odisha have to hold this govt ACCOUNTABLE. Does SCB have an AMC agency for fire safety systems? If yes, who is the agency, how was it onboarded, and when was the last servicing done? Was the affected block fully fire compliant or not? Were the alarms, sprinklers, smoke detectors, and emergency exits working or not? When was the last electrical maintenance carried out in that block? When was the last electrical safety inspection done? These are not minor details. These are life and death questions. And spare us the usual script. A few suspensions will not do. An inquiry alone will not do. Compensation will not do. The Health Minister cannot hide behind files, officials, inquiry committees & a few suspensions. That excuse does not work anymore. This is being projected as some massive achievement. A lot of chest-thumping. Let me BUST the Propaganda 👇 First, 80,000 MT is crude oil, not ready-to-use fuel. Crude has to be refined, and refining does not convert 100% of crude into usable fuel. Let us take a reasonable refining assumption: 75% 80,000 × 75% = 60,000 MT So, from this entire shipment, the actual usable fuel comes to roughly 60,000 MT. Now compare that with India’s consumption. India's Monthly Consumption = 20.7 Million MT 20.7 Million MT ÷ 30 = 690,000 MT per day That means India consumes around 690,000 MT of petroleum products every day. Now, let us calculate how long this shipment would actually last: 60,000 ÷ 690,000 = 0.08 day 0.08 × 24 = 2.1 hours That means this entire tanker, after refining, would sustain India for barely 2.1 hours. That is it. So the attempt to project one tanker’s arrival as some giant strategic breakthrough is plainly misleading. Because once the optics are removed and the numbers are put on the table, the reality is simple: One tanker. Roughly 60,000 MT usable fuel. Barely 2.1 hours of India’s daily consumption. The Rajya Sabha election has exposed why Arvind Mohapatra was thrown out from BJD. And more importantly, it reminds everyone of the long history of Bijay Mohapatra’s political opportunism. This is the same man who brought Naveen Patnaik into politics thinking he would control him like a puppet. But Naveen saw through that game early. And he acted. Bijay Mohapatra was thrown out. What followed was a long journey of irrelevance. Forming parties. Switching sides. Trying every possible route to stay politically alive. Nothing worked. Eventually, he had to come back and surrender. His son was inducted into BJD. Given a ticket. Made an MLA. A second chance. But patterns do not change. The same politics. The same conspiracies. The same backdoor games. And once again, consequences followed. His son was expelled. Now, after managing to influence the outcome of a single Rajya Sabha seat, there is celebration as if a government has fallen. As if Naveen Patnaik’s political career has ended.
