A Nigerian man known as Bra Kofi in Ghana advised his fellow Nigerian after she asked him whether she could travel to Ghana with ₦2 million (GH₵16,280), rent a place, furnish it, and establish herself.
He made it clear that the money wouldn’t be sufficient, explaining that after paying rent and furnishing her room in Accra, she would not have enough capital to start anything meaningful. This situation might force her to resort to illegal means, turning her into a problem for Ghana. He therefore advised her to stay in Nigeria and use ₦500,000 (GH¢4,070) for rent and invest the remaining ₦1.5 million (GH¢12,210) in a venture that would help her survive there.
