This morning Julian Luna and Arturo Morfin, both validated Winton Varrio Park Sureno gang members were sentenced to life without parole in the CDCR by Merced County Superior Court Judge Mark Bacciarini for their involvement in the murder of Francisco Pena in December 2013.

On Tuesday, February 6th, the Merced County Superior Court Los Banos, Department 14, did not hold normal court. Instead it featured five teams of high school students from throughout Merced and Mariposa Counties competing in Merced County’s Second Annual Mock Trial Competition.
