Some corrections and comments to Dave's Review: 1) There's no ban on "click through links" (hyperlinked text). We prefer raw URLs, but the warning Dave got is about a different thing: "link policy requires that people do not have to click through to* link or a video in order to understand a post. Links and videos are desired (and required if you describe their content, or quote them in any way), but must be treated as references, and not content." (*"to" should have been "to a", a typo in my warning template that I've fixed) All Dave needed to do was add a quote from the link. 2) I did not say that not sharing his theory would result in "extra work", I said: "Hi Dave, If you've located the plane, you should just post it. The focus here is more on solving unsolved cases, not repeating work." Dave is not exactly a new user, he joined over a year ago, and has had several productive posts. He was not censored. His post was not deleted. The title was edited after a likely plane was found, as is common practice. Metabunk has been running for 15 years. It's not X, it has guidelines that have worked well, and is a friendly place if you follow the guidelines. I value Dave's work, our interactions here on X, and his contributions to Metabunk, including the thread he started, which resulted in an interesting investigation. I'm frankly bemused that he would write, "West imposes a Gestapo-like crack down on the true free exchange of ideas and thought" Metabunk has a standard set for forum rules (basically the default used on thousands of Xenforo-based forums) and a more detailed set of posting guidelines. This all is shorter than X's terms of service. You can see the terms, and linked guidelines, here: metabunk.org/help/terms/ I have no ill feelings here, and I would welcome Dave continuing to post. Here's his thread metabunk.org/threads/uap-se…
