Mine in Abyss

Hello, Cave Raiders! We've been very busy searching the Abyss for new and exciting things to show you, but guess what: We're back, and we've got a LOT to catch up on. Welcome to the new and improved Mine In Abyss! Let's check out what's changed since our last post! 🧵

Stay tuned for more events, updates, and even a special anniversary celebration coming very soon! (I'll give you a hint: "very soon" means this month!)

The Abyss may be older than history can determine, but you've now been able to mine in it for 8 years! This year alone, we hosted 7 events, doubled the amount of mobs, introduced cosmetics, reworked L3, and released 2 huge relic updates... And there's still plenty more to come!

After winning the Relic design contest, Yūkonokage underwent slight design changes with the help of its original artist. Pictured below are the original submission and the final design as seen in-game!

Composed of materials from the Abyss' Sixth Layer, it is believed that Yūkonokage is capable of not only cutting through flesh, but gathering its victims' very souls as well. These souls are said to be stored within, and released in a burst of energy when the scythe is swung.

Following quests from a few NPCs you can now find at the Cave Raiders' Guild headquarters in Orth, players can now seek out a series of special, spooky locations around the Abyss in search of seasonal rewards! Happy hunting, and don't get too scared!

Something new has been discovered! The craftable and upgradeable Ghost Seek relic allows you to seek out Praying Skeletons scattered around the Abyss. These ancient remains conceal a variety of treasures. If you're lucky, you may even find a Relic to use in your travels!

At the bottom of the Fifth Layer, Ido Front serves as the base of operations for the Sovereign of Dawn, Bondrewd the Novel. Its labyrinthine facilities have given rise to scientific triumphs and ethical conundrums alike. #MadeInAbyss

The Fifth Layer, known as the Sea of Corpses, is the lowest any Cave Raider can descend in the Abyss whilst still being able to return to the surface. At its bottom is Ido Front, home base to the Sovereign of Dawn and gateway to layers unknown.

The Goblets of Giants, the Abyss's Fourth Layer, is populated by vast amounts of massive, petrified Flat-Creepers. The mass amounts of water pooled atop these plants gives the layer its characteristic humid climate, shrouding many secrets deep in its steamy jungles.

The Third Layer, the Great Fault, is characterized by its namesake - a 4,400 meter vertical pit. To get around the challenges of climbing around such a sheer drop, Cave Raiders traverse the caverns lining its walls.
