A12: One action step would be to continue to practice computer skills with students! There are certain things that can lessen their experience in a virtual field trip if they don’t know how to mute themselves or “pin” a video. #edtechguys

A11: Taking a virtual field trip to a place that your students are studying in Social Studies would be a beneficial experience. You could do it in the beginning of the unit to engage or at the end for them to make connections to what they learned. #edtechguys

Q9: Virtual Field Trips present many opportunities to students and teachers that may not have been present before. Many probably never even considered virtual field trips in their classrooms and now they have the opportunity to provide their students this experience. #edtechguys

A8: Different types of virtual field experiences include visiting a zoo, a country you may be studying, historical landmarks. In a lot of ways it can add to their learning experience and connect to the curriculum. #edtechguys

A7: A virtual field trip is an experience where students can learn about and “visit” a new place online. Students can visit zoos, amusment parks and even ride a rollercoaster virtually! #edtechguys

A6: Some tools and resources to enhance online instruction for math could be screencastify lessons students can watch, rewind and rewatch at their own pace & engaging and interactive math games where students can continue to practice previously learned skills #edtechguys

A5: My favorite tools and resources to engage students online are FlipGrid, interactive Google Slides and Screencastify. #edtechguys

A4: A common challenge in reading and math instruction online is not being able to give that instant feedback in small group or 1:1. We can overcome these challenges by creating opportunities for providing that feedback in Google Meets. #edtechguys

A3: To inspire students to be active learners online, it is important to give them interactive and engaging assignments that provide opportunities to make connections to their world. We also try to organize events and Fun Fridays for the kids to look forward to! #edtechguys

A2: In an online learning environment I would define student engagement as submitting assignments, frequent & consistent communication, involvement and participation in Google Meets, and responses that show critical thinking. My opinion is new and ever changing! #edtechguys

A9: Tapping into the interests of these “unwilling” students is essential! I believe making connections with your students is the first step in truly being able to reach them. These connections help you to get them to open up during instructional time. #edtechguys

A8: Differentiating is so important for these students! I usually include a challenge for them where they are applying a concept we have learned that will enrich their learning experience that they can complete individually or as a group. #edtechguys
