Creating models to make sense of gas exchange in the body AND THEN students used each other’s models to help them explain what’s happening at different scales.

Unanimous consent for the win. Missing the brilliant ideas from Gaming PLT this year. But super grateful for all the games that continue to help me build community and model science phenomena in my classroom.

A student came back to class after dismissal to invite another student to sit with her and her friends. My daughter said it best. “My heart hurts because there’s joy in it and it’s hitting me inside there”

Got about 45 minutes worth of work done in 2.5 hours. At least they didn’t accidentally dump the pushpin container. 🤦🏼‍♀️. #teacherprep

Students stayed strong until the end with some fierce Taboo battles. This year was hard. But these students were phenomenal.

My students were off their phones for the entire block during the last week of classes! All it took was hours of planning and set up!

@MsHereth I put a post-it note with a personal message on their desk the day of their state tests. So many have pulled them out of their wallets or told me they have them posted on their walls. Cheap! Meaningful!

Hi #mtbos and #Iteachmath I have had a truly amazing group of 8th graders this year in my Algebra classes. I'm looking for a small math gift....like a sticker or a pen or a notebook, I can give them as they head to high school that isn't expensive. There are 40 of them. Ideas?
