Y’all, this weather has us on a rollercoaster! We were THIS close to tarping the #golfcourse greens yesterday… then Monday said “just kidding” and changed everything. Went from prepping for low 20s to “warming up” to 26°–27° 🤗. Still freezing… but better than expected! Now if someone could come take this cold away, that’d be great 😅 Because we’re jumping back to 90° by Sunday 🤣. All week we’ve been getting the golf course ready for the #turfgrass season… mowing, preparing, and bringing the course back to life. Then I come home and do the same thing in my own yard—push mowing, ride mowing, trimming trees with the pole saw, cleaning edges with the weedeater, and even carving out a little chipping green to practice on. Funny how my career and my home life look so similar. When you truly love what you do, it never really feels like the same old routine. #johndeere #golf #yardwork #lawncare

My sip of small joy this week was the 80°f weather and finally getting to mow again. We knocked out fairways, tees, collars, approaches, greens, and almost all the rough. 😍 It felt so good to be back in a normal mowing routine. But Thursday night dropped back to 30°F and next week we’re expecting temps in the 20s… a little reminder that winter isn’t quite done with us yet 😖. #greenkeeper #johndeere #turfmanagement #golfcourse #golf

Back at camp again today continuing to establish trails for kids and adults to explore. This one takes you from the lodge down to the creek—where kids and adults can walk beside the water, play, explore, and then follow the trail right back to the lodge. It’s starting to feel like a #golfcourse again! 🤗 Yesterday we were able to mow the greens for the first time since October. We also removed the winter pin placements, which means we’re getting closer to the start of the #golf season. What a great week it has been on the #golfcourse! It’s finally starting to feel like turf and #golf season again 🤗. Yesterday we rolled the greens for the first time since early November. We started the morning with a 10 on the stimpmeter and after rolling we finished at 12.25 👊. I’m also in the final stages of setting our new pin placements for the upcoming summer season. Hopefully we’ll be able to get those winter cups off the greens soon! It’s exciting to see the course coming back to life, and I’m looking forward to everything this #turf season will bring. NBA HISTORY FOR THE KID FROM DUKE 😈 🔥

It started as a small, slow leak at the beginning of February… nothing major, so we monitored it until it became more noticeable. Last week, we decided to dig in and see what was happening beneath the turf. What we found? A leak from a previous repair. Somehow, the Smith-Blair coupling had loosened where the pipes connect, so we went in and tightened the bolts. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a simple fix! #golfcourse #greenkeeper #irrigation #golfmaintenance #turfmanagement

Last week at The Genesis Invitational, we were proud to see our team playing a part behind the scenes. Emily Casey was on site throughout tournament week, supporting both on the course and in the workshop. From walk-mowing greens to delivering training on the Express Dual 4300 and 4500, she was fully involved in championship preparation. Emily also hosted a live grinder demonstration for visiting superintendents. With 45 volunteers and a mixed fleet of John Deere, Jacobsen and Baroness machines, it was a brilliant example of collaboration at the highest level of the game. We are proud to see our people supporting turf professionals on golf’s biggest stages. 👏
