Is this a murder suspect or a mental health patient? This tragedy is heart breaking. How do the bereaved feel seeing this? Suspect of the murder at Ggaba Daycare, Christopher Okello Onyum, laughed abruptly during a court session on Wednesday afternoon. monitor.co.ug/uganda/news/na…

According to reports, the government has threatened to shut down New Best Hotel in Busega–Natete after the owner allegedly failed to comply with previously agreed-upon guidelines. Officials who visited the premises were reportedly distressed by the activities taking place at the New Best Hotel car wash. Eyewitnesses claim that young women are made to splash warm, soapy water on vehicles and customers paying for car wash services, while others are allegedly involved in group sexual activity. The government states that despite multiple warnings, the hotel management has continued to disregard the directives."

Is this public court a good idea? Many members of society think those they perceive as guilty should not have legal representation because their cases are 'obvious.' They frown upon defense lawyers as 'counsel for the criminal.' This may put the lives of the latter at risk.
