When a woman knows that her son has molested her daughters, and she forces her daughters to forgive him and then covers up the son's crimes and keeps the daughters living in the house with him, is she a good mom? A good person? Is she being blamed for a man's actions?
gizmo@SecondGizmo

@Cooperstreaming Kind of weird to instantly go to "how do I blame women for the plethora of sexual predator men in this male centered family that's part of a deeply patriarchal religion", but keep contributing to the issue I guess

@Solidarity_Star this book hasn't been printed since 1945 until israel started printing them in the 70s and to this day are still the only manufacturers. every IDF kit has a sealed copy of meinkampf to plant at the site of warcrimes. there is no reason for such pristine wellkept copies to exist

As ever, that so many of the rational moderates who pushed various versions of popularism are locked into defending an 80-20 issue (AI) because they’re all funded by tech and EA, is a very funny little blip.
More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS

BREAKING: The White House is out with a new National Policy framework for AI. The proposal says: "States should not be permitted to regulate AI development." It also says that states shouldn't be able to penalize AI companies when people break the law with their models.

No, I don't think AI should be thanked, credited for its work, celebrated, chastised, or treated as anything other than a tool. Should we start crediting Visual Studio Code on every commit? Should we also credit Python? How about crediting Apple for their computers, which made that particular commit possible?
Josh Ellithorpe@zquestz

@svpino So you don't believe an AI should be credited for their work? What about in an age when AGI exists?

I really hope I'm misunderstanding Rich here because if he's saying "We were excited and liked it, but seeing how everyone hates it, I wish we waited so we could have hated it too" is uh...not a very good look and kinda tarnishes almost everything else they've done previously?

Then why doesn't an Ohio Real ID Drivers license meet the new SAVE Act standard & why isn't having to then get a copy of my birth certificate or a passport before November not a poll tax? Asking for 11 million Ohioans.
Senator Jon Husted@SenJonHusted

Whether it’s boarding a plane, buying alcohol, driving a car, or applying for federal programs—Americans use their IDs every day. It’s common sense to require ID to vote, too.

I’m happy the book has been pulled too, but also worried some people are starting to assume writing is ai just cus it uses perfectly normal stylistic devices (like listing, the use of contrasts, using words strangely to convey voice, em dash etc). It’s making me paranoid

I’m happy to see a publisher pull an AI-generated book. I hope it has a chilling effect on people trying to sell AI slop. If you can’t be bothered to write it, we can’t be bothered to read it. Gift link: nytimes.com/2026/03/19/boo…

I’ve been asking this question for a while now and I have never ever ever ever ever ever ever gotten a response to it. It’s always some variant of “well that doesn’t matter, the point is I worked hard…”

They're literally hiding the fact that illnesses spread through aerosols. They're literally censoring the information needed for people to be willing to protect themselves. By doing this, they weaponize misinformation, deny the truth, and contribute to ongoing harm.
