A very sunny Hapa Zome session today, fortunately we have lots of shade in the woods. The children showed great teamwork as they created their own pieces by hammering the leaves and petals into fabric. #owpsforestschool @OWPSchool @OWPSturtles @OWPS_chameleons

More brilliant puppets 😀

The puppets look great! Thank you to all the adults who joined us for the 2Can Learn event. #OWPSdt

In our 2Can Learn session, the Turtles and Chameleons followed their designs to create a mini-beast hand puppet for a child to play with. They used cutting and sewing skills to create their puppet and used joining techniques to add on embellishments. #OWPSdt

In our English lesson, we looked at the first illustration in our new Power of Reading text. We used this to talk about what we already know about Belle and created predictions for the story. The Turtles created a Role on the Wall for Belle in their table groups. #OWPSenglish

In our DT lesson this afternoon, we practised simple sewing skills such as a running stitch and how to sew a button. It required a lot of perseverance and resilience! #OWPSdt

We had a great day at Ferry Meadows learning all about living things and their habitats. Thank you to all the members of staff and parent volunteers who came along too! 🐝🦋🐛

We have been busy searching for different microhabitats!

In RE this afternoon, we learnt about the story of Hanukkah and why the Menorah is special to Jews. The Turtles played the dreidel game and discussed how this reminds Jews of the story. #OWPSre

We have been exploring our school grounds to sort and classify things according to whether they are living, dead or never alive. #OWPSscience 🐝🍂🪨

In our art lesson this afternoon, we created collages of Minibeasts inspired by Eric Carle. #OWPSart

This afternoon, we learnt about what kind of physical contact is acceptable and how to respond. The children were respectful and responsible when acting out different scenarios. #OWPSpshe

This morning, we had a visitor in to talk to us about Road Safety. We’ve had reminders about crossing the road, wearing seatbelts in our cars and wearing bike helmets on our bikes and scooters.

In maths this morning, we practised telling, reading and writing O’Clock and Half Past times. The Turtles were great at telling the time! ⏰ #OWPSmaths

After that, a new class role was advertised- laptop monitors! We discussed how this democratic decision would affect us, as we wanted to vote for someone who would take care of our laptops! The children wrote a speech and voted for their new monitors. 💻#OWPSpshe

In PSHE, we have been learning about how democratic decisions affect us. First, we heard from our Eco Warriors and our School Council Representatives. We discussed how we have pupil voice at OWPS. #OWPSpshe
