The new Congress begins on January 3rd, but President Trump doesn’t take office until January 20th. With MAJORITIES in the House and the Senate, we should have at least a dozen bills to shrink government overreach on his desk awaiting his signature by the first day of his term!

I’m finding it a little hard to sleep over the sound of explosions in my city, and the idea that people are dying with every thud. I’m also finding hard to sleep over the thought that Americans are now heading to the polling booth to choose one of the two primary candidates that are equally committed to perpetuating the ongoing war in Lebanon and Palestine. Another thing that’s making me lose sleep is the fact that Americans are mainly voting based on domestic matters that affect them directly like the economy or bodily autonomy (understandable of course), while forgetting that their votes echo far and wide on foreign soil, and are a death sentence to many beyond US borders. I have one question. Do you really understand the weight of your votes and the full agendas of your preferred candidates? Or is foreign policy so drowned out underneath the piles of dysfunctional local affairs and curated disputes that your government has accumulated for you so you don’t get to the bottom of the pile? I hope you sleep well after you vote. I’ll probably be up hoping my home isn’t the next target.

@dadaisokay @daftcryptopunk And how is this helping you to not get bombed right now? I'm sorry but you are not American I have no fear where I live, and if your county's way is better how come your officials are allowing you to get bombed, and protecting the ones causing the retribution?

@OkayStitches @daftcryptopunk Also here, we do thing democratically, not thru bloodshed like the Americans. We actually practice our democracy, and gradually vote in candidates that are better for our future.

@daftcryptopunk @dadaisokay Why not the people of Lebanon then remove them from those positions? Is Lebanon governement or whatever in on it too? I can't imagine a terror group setting up here and doing something like that, they would get their asses blasted by us citizens 10 fold.

Hezbollah doesn't not equate to the entirety of Lebanon or Beirut. It's unfortunate that they had/have taken up positions there but bombing areas that have a mix of civilian and enemy combatant in there is just not right. We in the US have rules of engagement when it comes to these things.

@daftcryptopunk @dadaisokay The USA is a instigator, and we fund countries to help them fight sure. BUT we aren't the countrties actually fighting. If you see a fight in the street do you tell the ones watching and cheering to stop it, or do you tell the ones fighting to stop?

I tend to agree, but the problem is we as America are still shipping arms to them. While I agree countries have the right to defend themselves and need help to that end, America needs to stay out. As we have been told time and again. We are not the global police. We have a lot to deal with at home ourselves.
