So far, @OrbStack is a way better experience than Docker Desktop, except for the part where it completely crashes out of nowhere.

The migration from Docker Desktop to @OrbStack is the slickest thing I have seen in recent times.

@_vojto are you hard-coding IPs of orbstack machines? if so, switch to using orb.local domains. the default IP ranges changed in 2.0

switching back to Docker solved the problem. I'm going to switch to OrbStack again and email you the details. Just need a few hours. I wonder if Kamal deployment would work with a fresh Rails app. I think you might be able to repro it that way. It was failing for me on 2 Rails project both deployed using Kamal.

I think latest version of @OrbStack broke Kamal deployments.

I have been using @OrbStack for more than a month now, and it is a perfect replacement for the Docker Desktop. It's extremely lightweight and can create VMs along with containers.

Docker Desktop has been such a headache with Apple Silicon. Switched to OrbStack and it works perfectly. Thank you @OrbStack !

Switched to @OrbStack with just `orb migrate docker` and everything's flawlessly up and running. Thank you @kdrag0n

@thoughtlesslabs @joshmanders @loftwah .local is supposed to be handled by macOS (mDNSResponder), and that's necessary for OrbStack domains to work. I'd recommend removing the dnsmasq as it could cause issues with other apps too. You can also choose not to use orb.local domains; port forwards and IPs are supported.

@joshmanders @loftwah well above my paygrade lol... I'm sure @OrbStack could help you out. I'm assuming it'll be some form of dns setting within either dnsmasq or orbstack to make sure they don't conflict.
