@PCCIpod

A cricket pod as much for the Noel David fan as it is for a Sachin fan. Rant and rave about everything to do with World Cricket since the 90s. Read the header.

Ek aadmi India waapis aaye (kuch din ke liye hi) aur Zepto/Blinkit ki taareef na kare toh Immigration pe rok diya jaata hai.

So hereโ€™s something that just hit me hard, and that too very pleasantly. In Norway, getting groceries means driving to the โ€œbuttikโ€ - sometimes in -10ยฐC weather - just to grab 1 litre of milk. Thatโ€™s normal life in one of the most โ€œadvancedโ€ countries in the world. Last night I landed back in India. Today I opened Zepto and Blinkit, linked my Amazon Pay, and ordered mangoes, shower gel, sanitiser, toothpaste, vegetables, fruits, milk, and a bunch of other essentials - 12 items in total. I tried this on both apps delivered everything to my apartment in less than 9 minutes. ๐Ÿ˜Š 12 items. Under 9 minutes. To my door. I sat there and just laughed, honestly. Because we Indians complain about India all the time - the traffic, the chaos, the noise. But we donโ€™t realize what we already have until we leave and come back. No one in the โ€œdevelopedโ€ world has this. Not Norway, not anywhere Iโ€™ve been. This kind of convenience, this kind of hustle, this kind of โ€œI want it now and Iโ€™ll have it now" - thatโ€™s India. ๐Ÿ™Œ So to every Indian who keeps comparing us down - go drive in the snow for milk first. Then tell me we donโ€™t have it good. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿงก

Fake Sooryavanshi, I understand. But what could possibly be the psychology behind creating a *wait for it* fake Ajay Jadeja account and pay for that blue tick? What next, a fake Noel David account? Audience kaun hai inka.

A fake Gavaskar account responding to a fake Sooryavanshi handle. Why Indian fans create fake quotes in the name of cricketers, or worse fake accounts will remain one of the unsolved mysteries of the universe.

#WATCH | Paris: Addressing the Indian community, PM Modi says, "There is another thing that connects India and France: football. Football fever is at its peak right now. Its passion is visible everywhere in France. But the craze for football is at its peak in India too. The French team, in particular, has a huge fan following in India. France has started this World Cup with a resounding victory. I wish the French team all the best." (Source: ANI/DD)

The sport is throttled by the insularity of its biggest markets, its disdain for the underdog, and the urge to write them off the moment you have a blowout. Blowouts are alright, WCs are about celebration of the sport and not just the name on the trophy.

Even in the terribly organized T20 WC in the USA in 2024, you saw sparks of what is possible in games like Netherlands vs SA at NY which had an unexpectedly decent crowd. Same with games featuring Nepal recently, and the night games at Dallas felt like a new attempt in the sport.

Thread: Something cricket fans, mostly Indian fans never understand is that there are ticket allocations in football for every fanbase. This allows for matches to have presence of both sets of supporters, especially when populations are lop-sided, say NZ v India.
