A magical bug was discovered. The super telephoto algorithm of Samsung S24 Ultra could have been very powerful, but it is currently blocked. When I photographed the pine branches with 30x zoom alone, you can see that the image quality is very poor. But when text appeared in the picture, the pine branches captured instantly became clear, in other words, the pine tree also used the text optimization algorithm and was also optimized. Comparing the image quality of the two, the latter is obviously better than the former. Even compared with Xiaomi 14U ultra-telephoto algorithm, it is on par. That's the problem, why not just use this algorithm for pine branches? Do I have to recognize the text before applying it? I hope the next firmware will release this capability to all scenarios.

I know some people like the vivid screen mode of the current S24 Ultra, but there must be a rule in everything. What is a rule? Since it is called vivid mode, it must be vivid. If you prefer raw colors, you can set it to Natural mode, but what do those of us who prefer Vibrant mode do wrong? Why forcefully weaken the colors in vivid mode? This is not fair to us.
The current S24U's vivid mode is almost the same as the natural mode. What's the point of doing this? So there must be a problem now and a software update is needed to fix it.
I compared Chinese brand phones, and they all offer more detailed color modes, and the vivid modes are all excellent, rather than lifeless like the S24U.

What is Samsung doing! The OnePlus 12 here beats the S24 Ultra in low light. Note how the sky yet again almost looks purple with the S24 Ultra, Samsung has yet to fix nightshot white balance and excessive noise 🤦

@iWilliiam @TechTabletscom The budget determines everything, yes. Whether Samsung's features are better than OnePlus's is a little debatable.
You can also argue about the photos, because the OnePlus cameras and software are not bad at all! I have already chosen and bought a 1 terabyte Samsung s24 Ultra.

@TechTabletscom Depends what you're looking for imo. If you want the best deal possible, OnePlus 12. If you're ok to spend more for slightly better photos, display and features, then S24 Ultra. It's all about the budget in that case

@sondesix It is still too early to draw any final conclusions. S24 ultra it's only a week old. After two months, I think it will be a more objective time for conclusions.

Samsung fanboys were too excited about the Galaxy S24 Ultra winning Mrwhosetheboss' camera battle against the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but they didn't consider the fact that Samsung only won the "non-essential" parts like special features, camera app, and editing features.
Bruh, the parts that are very important in a *camera comparison* are obviously the general quality of photos, videos, and nighttime photography. The S24 Ultra loses all three categories against the iPhone.
This is the first time it happens, as usually those older Samsung flagship phones won most of those essential categories when compared to the latest iPhone, including night mode.
I just hope that the reported update will fix all of the image processing issues that the Galaxy S24 Ultra currently has.
