Since @adriandix became MOH, total annual health budget has grown by $8B. $1B of that is head-office admin in MOH/health authorities (bureaucrats). Up 59%. Well-outpacing e.g. MSP payments (up 37%). Health system is far worse now. Good ROI? Good use of tax $$$? Good managment?

This was a gut-punch this morning, but on a station-wide call we laughed and cried together sharing stories of Deb's intelligence, integrity, compassion, generosity and that gawdam giggle that could light up a room or captivate an audience. Deb was special and we all loved her.

I am in Denmark. Same population as BC. All public insured. If you cannot get a procedure done in four weeks in a public hospital, it immediately goes to the private hospital. There are 20 and they are free. Cancer treatment is two weeks from diagnosis. I politician fail.#bcpoli

@PierrePoilievre I was CBC’s Ottawa Bureau Chief for several years during Liberal and Conservative governments. Only once did the gov’t try to affect our political coverage. That was when CPC PM Harper’s staff met with me and asked that a CBC reporter be reassigned. I said no. End of story.

#bcpoli The number of people in hospital who have covid has risen sharply from last week. Up from 193 to 240. Deaths are up from 13 to 22. Total fatalities during pandemic 5,192 - a rise from last week's 5,157.

Note to future generations: We had the tools needed to mitigate a virus that maims kids for life, but those in power chose not to use them.
