Poplar Primary

We have had such a busy few weeks with visits to London, a trip on the river and London Eye, Museums, workshops with Stoneage Dave, sporting competitions and events including cross-country and lacrosse. After school is the Farmers Market - please come and support the school!

It is our annual Farmers Market after school today. The school allotment has yielded a large harvest this year. The children have been very busy, there are lots of homemade produce to buy including chutneys, flapjacks and lavendar bags. 3:25pm in the playground🍏🍎🍐🍒🍰🫙🍯🐝

Year 4 and Year 6 both held concerts on Wednesday for their parents to showcase their music learning from the summer term. Drumming with Suliman in Year 4 and singing with Mr Igor in Year 6. Well done to all and fantastic freestyle dancing by the parents in Year 4! @mertonmusic

🎭Year 6 acted brilliantly yesterday in their two end of year performances of Dream On! They were really funny, brilliant dancers, fantastic singers, confident and outstanding all-round performers. An amazing amount of hard work and it all paid off - well done to all involved.🎭

A huge thank you to Mr Edwards and all involved in gaining the PLATINUM School Games Mark - an outstanding achievement! We have had an amazing year of sport at Poplar and this is a fantstic way to end our sporting year!🎾🏈🏓🏀⚽️🏑⛳️🥌🏏🏸

What an amazing afternoon we have had at the School Fair. A huge thank you to the PTA for all of their hard work in the run up and today. Thank you to everyone who volunteered or attended today it was a brilliant community afternoon! 👏

Here are a few of the hundreds of jolly jars our creative pupils have made! The sport themed jars are just wonderful. Come along to the School Fair tomorrow from 12pm - 3pm and you could win one! The PTA have a wonderful fair planned and ready! ⚽️🏀🏈🎾🏸🎳

Toy Dave has come in today to share toys throughout the ages with our Year 1 children. Thank you to Toy Dave, the children have really enjoyed themselves!

What a fantastic day we have had at Poplar! Year 6 have been holding their own Parlimentary Elections. I wonder who won in our school elections this afternoon? KS1 have performed twice today! They have learnt so many different songs in singing assembly and performed beautifully🎶

Poplar Primary School took part in our own elections today. Year 6 pupils elected party leaders, prepared manifestos, held rallies and voted. They ran the polling station, counted votes and returned TOMORROW party as the winners. Congratulations team TOMORROW! #GeneralElection

Congratulations to our Borough Rounders Champions Bishop Gilpin for a gripping 13.5 - 13 half a rounder victory in the final. Well done to Poplar in 2nd and Pelham in 3rd and a special mention to Holy Trinity for being awarded the prestigious REFSPECT award for this event.

Nursery have been learning about Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. This week they have all been out to the shops to buy the ingredients to make porridge tomorrow. Thank you to Mrs Penders, Miss Kavanagh and Ms Aldred for taking the groups of children to the shops 🧸🥣

Our children have had no phones, computers, TV, PlayStation or social media for 4 days. They have rediscovered the art of chatting, making up games, enjoying each others company, climbing trees and simply being 11 years old. What a joy. 🙂#Cuffley2024Poplar
